Hi, The only way for me to stop that wave effect going down the screen is to up my monitor screen rate, but when i start a match with this new refresh rate setting the game stutters like mad. Is there a way to solve this problem or have i got to live with one or the other? thankyou.

Yeah, on your graphic drivers settings you should enable Vsync. That'll stop the whole screen tearing issue. Bring down your refresh rate to normal rates and you'll be fine. Seeing as you have the same graphics card as me, this is exactly what you should be seeing.
