Relegated?

I usually do a transfer limit. Like no more than 3 additions to the original squad. So you have to transfer wisely. And unless you limit yourself with a lotta things, and compose a very hard ML, it seems pretty hard to fall in that situation. it;d be fun to try not to be relegated. there's that side of the competition too...

I go for something similar, just the realism approach. So even if you're Man Utd, not likely Ronaldo, Ronaldinho, Zidane etc etc is going there. Not even Chelsea you'd get away with it.

Started new ML with United second season - one signing, Graveson on the free to replace Keano.

Like liam842 says - don't matter really who you've got in your team, cause can seem to have dire games and still come out 1, 2-0 winners.

I set a slightly different challenge for my Master Leagues in that I can only buy players who are younger than 25. This rules out most of the top players as by the time the team is doing sufficiently well to be able to attract the better players a lot of them are too old, such as Ronaldinho. The hardest part is getting a good defnse together as Puyol, Ferdinand etc are all unavailable.

When the good youngsters start coming through, such as Bos, Palmieri, Orellano, Orlando, Shimizu etc, then I get those and train them up. It adds a different dimension to the game, as I have to build up my squad, trying to get the youngsters experience whilst ensuring I keep a strong enough team to win all competitions on 6*.

Now some of my youngsters are getting to their peaks (Shimizu especially) I get a real sense of satisfaction out of playing them, as I know that it was all my hard work getting them up to that level.

Well, that's how I keep the game interesting.
