Removing the " Speed Merchant " Skill Card, with or against?

Hi,

I know most of you hate playing against these players, but some enjoy that.

so, in which side are you?

I know that KONAMI wouldn't listen to us, but lets see your opinions.

My Opinion: I think they have to make the dribbling and turning like pes 2010, it was pretty good.

btw, i don't have any problems dealing with speed merchants

Sure you do, everyone has. Some do it better then the other, but if you are playing with weak defenders sometimes there's nothing you can do, especially this year when the tackle button is gone.

I think they should just tweak it a lot as messi can't be messi without his turning.
And I defo think they should lose speed when they turn.

Also PES 2010, the dribbling felt too loose, turning was shifting tons of body weight so I would never want dribbling to be like in PES 2010, just make dribbling a bit looser in 2012

Ofcourse the problem is not in their speed, its their turning. How retarded you need to be to make player dont lose any speed when changing angles, jeez.

i know its the turning that players can turn so accurately in PES without losing any momentum is nowhere near realistic

Sorry about what i said

sometimes i have problems if my defenders are weak but i don't recieve too much goals, it is not that big deal for me.

when i press '' R2 + X '' against a speed merchant, 90% i take the ball.

don't press X against a speed merchant, he will definitely beat you.

I believe we can do without the card. I avoid signing players with the card–it's kinda cheesy. Plus, you know what kind of game you're in for when you're matched up against someone who has one (or two, or three) player with the card. For me, it takes the piss out of playing the game. I feel like it becomes a boring, 20 person game of tag, and that's not why I play the game, anyway.

i have suggested this before - REMOVE THE SPEED MERCHANT card!

instead, players should rely on top speed, explosive power, dribble acc and dribble speed instead.

this, and i really don't understand why they took out agility and acceleration and combined it to explosive power, it doesn't make any sense

It could be that acceleration itself is a hard stat to work out for players?

All stats are hard to pin down. I think they need to remove Speed Merchant, and implement some of the mobility that card offers into Explosive Power (EP). 99 EP should be aproximately 80-85% of what Speed Merchant is today and so on.

I think the whining about the speed merchants is getting annoying. Its a great way to get diversity in the game. Unlike last year.. People are only complaining bcause they dont know how to defend speed merchants. Thats not Konamis fault, that is your own lack of quality. If you get better, you will see the speed merchants are easely defendable.

I have really no trouble defending against them Pokervriend, and I am great at taking advantage of them if I have one in my team. Just because I know how to use them, and how to stop them does not mean that I have to like the way it's implemented.

it's not just about defending, i don't find it hard to stop them, but with messi, ronaldo & others you can't turn less than 45 degrees, sometimes you don't want to turn 45 degrees and i loose the ball because they do. also they look like clowns when they keep turning like that all the time, they don't do that all the time in real life because they can't do it more than once or twice in a match (believe me), so it's not realistic.

It's just that there are so many 'real' problems in this game. Cheaters, passes that are going the opposite to where you aim, strange keepers etc. I respect everyone's opinion, I just really like the Speed Merchant card, though I not use them very often because most Speed Merchants are in the big teams. If I'm correct, they (unfortunately) allready decreased the power of speed merchants in last patch? If they decrease it more, it is PES 11 all over again.

I agree with you it is not the most realistic thing, but I am mainly interested in having a good time with a semi-realistic game, Speed Merchants give the game some diversity and making it more unpredictable. I love them:)
