But hell, this works. Just pretty much hold square when opposition are in possession. Works wonders. Cheers.

When your team are on the offensive stay in space - if you get caught amongst players your team will fumble a pass or lose the ball to opposition. Stay in space and you'll find your team hold the ball MUCH better - and play on top player. The AI is much better at this level.

Thats crazy! i had no idea you could effect the rest of your team! I havnt lost a game since i read this!

Also i can hold my position much more without having to chase down the ball cos my team wont close down!

And with that, you save a lot of stamina. Now I can finish my games with still some stamina left (my legend' stamina stat is 83). :cool:

not sure how this works being a newbie and all but if people are finding that advice useful should it not be entered on to the BAL FAQ sheet?

I agree. I played for three "big" teams (Real Madrid, Inter and now AC Milan). And I always thought that there was not much difference in playing in Real Madrid and -for example- Vitesse. The defense was equally crap! Now I appreciate the value of being in a good team. And I can play better after all. :happy:

It works. But its a shame having to use this "technique" since the AS (artificial stupidity) doesn't know how to do it right. Not even to mention its very unrealistic to "influence" your teammates to take the ball.. i mean this should be obvious!! Just look at them running for the ball.. simply pathetic.

I wonder, instead of creating this playing mode, wouldnt have been better if they tweaked the AI to make it smarter in all the playing modes??.

This playing mode is completely scripted too; to a point where it doesn't matter what numbers you and your teams have, but how exciting and spectacular the match HAS to appeal to the user. One example? How about working to the 75 minute to score one Goal (and it has to be YOU since the AI doesnt know) and in the 76th the CPU equalises? Its so scripted is unbelievable; its suposedly to make the match exciting, but its annoying instead.

Years ago, I was extremely happy and surprised, when I found out that PES3 doesn't have the same heavily scripted gameplay Fifa always had. I loved it. Now, I coudn't be more disappointed, as PES2009 is by far the most scripted sports game I've ever played...

I actually think its really fair with this mode, because Im with United I win most games, but Im sure if I was with a lesser team, I wouldnt.

Really good now, but this REALLY needs to be in the command list, why would they not put it in?

Possibly the most helpful feature, because it stops it being a pile of shite, and they leave it out?

Could well be a bug, somehow it seems that the opponent AI has no problem exercising pressure on the player's team, but this same function is not working for your own team when you are playing in it.

Its really weird though and annoying to have to press that button all the time.. :)
Worked for me too. Playing at Valencia now and last season when I joined them, they were top table.. once I came on the field they dropped to mid table. And we were still mid table until I read about this. Now we're moving to the top again..

Send a bugreport through Konami's support forms I suppose :)

yeah some things in the game are so annoying!

The AI is so predictable! For instance when they take a throw near either side of your area. One of either two things ALWAYS happen. Your player either fouls them or their player turns and puts a short ball in! Its so predicatable i know where to stand exactly to always get the interception.

I dont agree with us being the only ones who need to score to win.. i play for Chelsea now and regularly win by 3-5 goals without scoring or getting assists... many people dont realise the importance of playing good balls out to the wing and dragging opponents away from your strikers.

This is another thing always happen: the cpu sends a ball to one of its wingers, he (doesnt matter who he is, he runs like a rocket) takes the ball and hammers to the center of the goal, where my keeper is standing. He tries a save, but the ball bounces off his hands or chest, and guess what? The cpu striker ticks the ball in. This always happen, so i decided to chase the striker down since my A.S mates cant stop anyone. The bouncing ball ALWAYS gets hoofed clear, even if Lucio or Cannavaro has it, they will be choosing clear rather than play the way out. So thats a good number of spoofed counter attacks. The game should let you assist the strategy at least.
