Just cos Ronaldinho does a fancy trick on a Nike Ad don't make him the best player in the world, He's good but not that good.

Have you ever seen a Barça game??? or PSG videos??
I think, if he's not the best, he's one of the best players (actually) :D

RONALDINHO did that trick during a game I was at and it was the best piece of individual skill I have seen at celtic park since Di Canio beat 3 hearts players at the corner flag with a cheeky drag back sheer magic

Gaucho

Hi to all, i'm form spain and i think that ronaldinho gaucho is the best player in the world. He has averthing: shoot, technique, speed, power and he has goal.

I think that in PES3 his technique must be 97-98, and the other skills in and average of 88-89

Sounds like either a.) sour grapes (Man U losing out on him) or b.) just plain madness. Zidane (who by his own admission has had an indifferent year) didn't deserve the World Player of the Year award . . . the only two contenders were Ronaldinho and Henry. I'd have voted for Ronaldinho; the guy has almost singlehandedly turned around the fortunes of Barcelona, while consistently performing on the international stage. He's stepped up from Ligue 1 to La Liga without any difficulty at all; in fact he's improved as a player.

His ability to use a 'fancy trick' is just one of his many talents - he's scored loads of great goals, set up loads more, and never fails to entertain.

All hail Ronaldinho.

I'v got a tip for you he is good but not God.
:D And Zidane is that surely.

Well, I've a tip for you, too . . . go to Soccernet's website, look in the news archive, and take a peek at the article in which Zidane admits to being mired in worst patch of his career since just after winning the World Cup. I agree, Zidane is a legend - the best player of his generation - but he's not had a great year, and that's what the World Player of the Year is (supposedly) based on.

Ronaldinho had to get it this year, for me. And if he didn't, Henry. (Actually, I would've loved to have seen Maldini get it, but I'm a Milan fan so I suppose there's a healthy dose of bias there.)

The World Player of the Year award is a bit of a joke, anyway. How on earth Ronaldo got it the year before . . . ludicrous. Oliver Kahn and Michael Ballack had unbelieveable seasons domestically, in Europe, and on the international stage (unlike Ronaldo who just scored loads of goals at the World Cup) and were totally snubbed. I mean, Ronaldo played something like 11 league games that year.

Need further proof that the WP of the Y is a bit dodgy? Paolo Wanchope was in the top thirty a few years ago.

Paolo bloody Wanchope.

I Have to disagree.Think about it.What makes Zidane special is his great passing and skill and the way he seems that the ball is glued to his feet.Plus his long range shooting.Ronaldinho has all of these,is faster and an eye for goal. And has his best years yet to come. This is why Ronaldinho is better.
Plus if you are talkin about God, then he plays for Celtic and wears a number 7 ;)
