Have to say the new system of having to pass around rather than just running at the defence is a massive step up for this game.

However I think there is one exception - our oily bedhopping friend Christiano ronaldo. No wonder so many people play as Madrid, sometimes he scores from the most ridiculous of angles. At one point last nght it was like the Keystone cops with 5 of my players chasing him round the park.

Dont really understand why people play as Madrid, wheres the fun in winning if you are so assisted by the game.

I suggest to Konami a pool system i.e. only the players in the lowest online league can choose from the best teams, the good players in D1 get to choose from lower teams, then we's see how good everyone is.

Yes let's handicap the best players so you can be good, damn I wonder why I haven't thought about it

Next suggestion, Konami, please update Ronaldo's stats, he shouldn't be better than Malouda, I can't beat Madrid.

Thanks for that. the last suggestion was actually a joke. I dont want the best players handicapped, I dont really care if I win or lose as long as I get a good lag free game. My point is, if your rated say 600 + playing a guy 450 or something do you really need the best team in the game? Apparantly hit a raw nerve with a Real fanboy it would seem.

The thing is to me, people who only use Madrid to win and people who complain about it are to be put in the same boat. They both can't deal with a loss.

Madrid is my favorite team ever and I don't think I'm the only one in that case since it is, whether you like it or not, the biggest club in football history. You can call me a fanboy or check the achievements. It's definitely not the best team though, but the recent transfers probably reminded people what Madrid is all about, amazing individuals. And amazing individuals attract fans.

Now of course you'll find people who'll use these individuals' individuality to win the game, especially since Madrid's teamplay is poor compared to Barca or Arsenal, but I strongly believe that there's many people who use Madrid just because they love Madrid, at least this year.

I use Madrid in 75% of my games, simply because 75% of my opponents play as Manchester, Inter, Barca or Chelsea.

When I see people with smaller teams like Manchester City, Lazio, Lyon, I use Arsenal. And the funniest is, I haven't met someone who use these smaller teams and play good football, they just run like people with Madrid and Barca. They're unbeknownst-ly doing what they blame the others for, quite ironic don't you think?

So no someone who has 650 points probably don't need Madrid to beat a weaker guy, but he's entitled to use his favorite team without fearing it might hurt his opponent's sensitivities.

Sometimes I really feel like I'm too old to play video games.

OK fair enough but to be honest my friend of the people who pick Madrid online, I would guess you are probably in a majority of one who actually support them. My old man actually saw them lift the european cup at hampden when puskas and hideguti played for them.

Your never too old for video games, Im 40 now and I played a guy online last week who claimed to be 55.

I dont mind losing but when CR scores these goals sometimes it can be deflating, that was my point.

i would be happy if my opponent would choose real.
every game i'm playing against barca. that sucks for real!
and each of them thinks: "give messi the ball - and run"
so i think you don't have a choice. i want to play with teams such like bolton, everton or donezk. but when i see which team my opponent chose i have to choose a better one because it's nearly impossible to beat them.

When you playing against madrid ronaldo and kaka are the one that always make the difference even when you playing against someone or the cpu.

I find that its fun to play against super players in the game. It's a challenge and when you succeed it feels great. But I do understand the frustration of getting beat solely on the insane skill levels of players like ronaldo

Use the "com pressure" on him then bring the guy you are controlling in good position for a tackle. It is the only way to stop him. If they add more body collision, then the dribble will be over since defenders will foul you by throwing you off balance. not a big yellow card type of foul, just a bit of pushing and body :)

The big players do have an impact but not so much in this game i have found, i dont find it as hard to deal with players like meei or ronaldo, but you are right they can be gamebreakers, all i do is fight fire with fire!

Listen if you know how to play PES than a novice using Madrid barcelona any of the big teams can be shut down EASILY. This isnt 09. I ususally play as Boca Juniors or Marseille good teams in their own right but not giants. play smart football and you can shut down anyone who just runs froward with Ronaldo. Players with skill thats another story. Last night I played against Madrid with someone who actually knew how to play the game a 1-1 tie was the result. For me though a victory because it kept me on my toes. For the record though I'm a Madridista myself I just dont like playing as the big teams.

Ye well said it is easier this year to close down a teams attack regardless of there players.
