I was playing a guy last night "giorgo xi" (i think its that) we had one game which he won 4 - 2, he wanted to play again, and I wanted revenge so started the game, just then my son woke up, so as the seconds ticked away I was in my baby's room sorting him out, when I got back to the PS2 giorgo was 3 - 0 up, which to me is fine as I had made him wait, I just said sorry my baby and continued to play normally, he however turned to his own goal and scored, did it three times to level things up. Even though I feel he had a right to the goals he showed great compassion and reminded me there are still some gents of the game out there.

BTW he won 4-3.

If someone keeps attacking the same way, then yes it is easy to defend. I find i get bored easily by them and then slip-up and conceed. If they try it during the 'lag half' then poor cutback play combined with lag normally equals a goal. And if there brazil - then u have 3 reasons to stop playing. Recently i have played against cutback cheats - gone 2 goals behind, got really annoyed and won 3-2. I just wish ppl played for fun. Watching that football is boring. I like defending agaist it cause its easy, but boring to watch still!

Also Man utd has the biggest fan base of every club in the world....how come Ive only played against them 3 times in all my 50odd games?? But have played the "elites" more times than I can count!!!

I'm an Arsenal fan and I'm always them, but i'd consider them to be a good side also. But my point is, nothing worse than someone choosing Brazil, when you're clearly gonna be club side, then they play a ridiculously attacking formation and just bang shots in from everywhere. Especially if its laggy and against the great dribblers in Brazil ie kaka, ronaldinho, timing is everything.

AND why is it that you can have a perfectly normal game in the 2nd half but not in the first half?! makes no sense to me?? I often find myself just keeping posession, which is boring, i know, but when its Laggin', nothing worse than someone scoring those bloody goals which would've been avoided if change player wasn't about 3 hours late!

I must say i've only had one 95% lag free game, which i won 3-2 against perhaps the only time i've gona online and played someone who seemed to be there for a good game and was half decent, although he did score the 'generic goal' early doors.

Does anyone else find, that even though they get so frustrated even if winning despite the lag.. they can't help going back for more?! It's like you know its gonna lag and piss you off, but you still do it. Crazy

cos u host 1 half and the other player hosts the other half.

im fed up with these online tossers i had a game there. i went celtic he then choose barca, during the game he has maybe 11 shots NINE of them were through etoo running down the right cuttting inside and cutting it bc. he scored 5 and i lost 5-1 wtf is all tht about no fun at all for anyone.

With the lagging in one half thing - That was cleared up ages ago by hitman i think. Whoever kicks off the match is hosting the first half so gets a lag free first half. So the 'away' team gets a lagged first half. Then at half time, you swap and the 'away' team host, so you should have a lag free second half. I have only had a few really bad lag games recently, but i always play as the away team - so i can be safe in the first half and then win the game in the second half. I have had too many occasions online where i am called a cheat if there is lag in one half. People dont understand that u get a lag half each. There is a case where people do stuff with a pc to really clog up the connection in their half and to cause ecssesive lag, when that happens, i play really simple and when they get near goal, i smash square and run as close to their players as possible.

With the cutback thing - most people are playing for rating and ranking so, they play like a machine - doing everything to win. I personally do not use the cutback and in some ways it benifits me, cause so many people are used to playing against people that do the cutback, that they cover it too much and i put in a double circle or triple circle cross. I can also say that i have NEVER been brazil! I play as spain mostly as i like the way they pass. If Torres could finish, people would be in real trouble but oh well. The cutback thing doesnt bother me too much as most people, when 1 on 1, instead of finishing they turn around cause they cant see a cutback on, and the chance is gone. To be fair to konami and the game makers, the cutback is harder to do now, with more cutback passes going astray, so i dont conceed many. Just need to crowd the box and hammer square. Someone suggested naming and shameing bad player but their are too many. If you want a good game - JordanLB was a very good player who did not even think about cutback goals and played very well. Maybe we should have a list of players you had really good games against.

I thought I was pretty decent at PES6 offline, went online and was rubbish!

One thing I've learn't as I've played more is not to underestimate the effect your formation and tactics have on the game and result. I know it may sound obvious but I never really bothered too much about setting my team and making in game changes. Played 442 against one guy (who was a lot better than me) and he thrashed me 5-1. Played him again with a 451 and beat him 2-1.

I also find 3-5-2 works quite well.

i hate barca wannabees with there 3 fwds ronnie on the left eto in the middle and messi on the right,they are twats who use them to run to the byline and cut in towards the front post and pull it back for eto to side foot it home WWWOOOOWWWWW GET A LIFE you boring git.

i used to love playing with arsenal due to the style of play fast flowing passing moves with henry's blistering pace.counter attacking football at its best.nowadays i like a challenge and use blackburn rovers i play 4-3-3 formation roberts,mcarthy,nonda up front do the bussiness with ried on the right of midfield his shooting is awesome and pederson on the left with savage as the dmf his stanima is 2nd to none.
i always now create rooms that are called small teams only and no cutbacks.i usually get the odd one that pick barca still only for me to ask if they can read they then usually change there mind and pick a different team.the games are generally open and end 2 end.
one day someone picked brazil after i had picked blackburn so i called him a twat and got on with it,i hammered him 3-1,you see you dont need the best teams to win with if your good enough.i also use bolton as they have anelka up front and he's fast.
so guys if you fancy a honest game with small teams that will be open and entertaining then look me up.

Every game no matter what I chose Newcastle, they aint the best team on the game but I love playing with the team I support and I want a good game of football!!!!

Sooo is it just me that is getting sick to death with playing against either Real, Barcelona, Inter or Chelsea????? I play game after game against players called "Tottenhamrooolz" etc who do not pick their favourite team but pick barcabloodylona then run the length of the pitch with Ronaldinho and score from a stupid angle or 17miles from goal!!!!!

And if thats not bad enough why the hell do you get people who only score by----> through ball to wing---->run inside---->pass to striker whos stood unmarked in the box who slots it home!!!??? Yes its a guaranteed goal but why do do it 8/9 times in 1 match and think your good cos you score???

Am I the only one that plays this game to have a decent game of football and not to play game after game with the best teams scoring the "generic" goals?? Or am I a dieing breed??

Yeah im ranting now cos I had 5 great games in a row against some sound opposition, then I play 4 in a row against people who do the above time and time again!!!

Yep, it is. IMO, two amazing bands, although obviously on different levels.

BTW, it's pretty easy to stop people who's tactics are simply 'pass to ronaldinho and run'. play a 4-5-1 formation with two DMF's and three CMF's and it pretty much cuts out the running game for the opposition. If they make it past one player, they run straight into another one.

Now it's pretty fun playing cheap people who are always Inter, Barca, etc. They end up getting so pissed off they end up hacking me from behind. I beat one guy in D1 5-3 yesterday and he was so pissed off he sent me an abusive message after the game!

I have only had this game on PC for a few days now, I use Man United every match.I am a United fan and consider them to be one of the best teams on the game. However I do get sick of playing Inter, Chelsea and Real Madrid. I feel that if you pick a team you know well and practise with them regularly then you can overcome better teams online. You can use each players strengths accordingly, I score many goals doing the majority of my running with Ronaldo and then passing to Saha or Rooney, this tactic is boring I admit but its effective and irregular changes such as a shot or dummy with the wide player can often fool your opponent. I appreciate that I am lucky to support one of the better teams on the game however I have played people using Marseille or Palermo who have proved an equal match. Often when you play with a lesser team, passing becomes more important and this improves your game as you have lower confidence in each players ability.

I do think this is a bit of a glitch in the game and people try and take advantage of it. The annoying bit is that even if you are able to defend it 90% of the time the idiots that attempt it 20 times a game know that there will be a mistake somewehere along the line. I find that they usually pick Inter and use Adriano as a LWF because he's hard to push off the ball which makes it easier to cut in.

These idiots never shoot from outside the box, they always spend aaaaaaages arranging some stupid formation like they've never heard of stocking the the thing. I particularly like the half-wit's who decide that apart from their attacking players everyone else seems to be grouped in and around their own box. I would love the game to punish these pathetic flights of fancy in the same way a real team would get hammered if they tried to play like that but nevermind.

I play a passing game and there are times where a move is finished with a ball played into a striker stood in the middle of the box who turns and shoots - the goal itself is a little boring I suppose but the build up is different every time so I don't feel so bad. And if someone pushes their FB's up and I counter attack then I am going to attack the space they leave and I'd expect my opponent to do the same. I don't mind losing to better players or even players who I should have beaten winning when they play fair but too many people waste 20 minutes of my like with repititve, OCD tinged childish tactics.

I think that the cutback thing is a big of a let down by the game makers. I was playing pes5 and rarely you could see it happen.Now it is a MUST!!! Most players use it and actively trying to achieve it.They score most of their goals like this.Is this the most beautiful game?...

Yep, the cutback ruins the game. I dont mind ppl trying it but i expect my international stadard central defenders to run with the strikers in the centre instead of standing about. It is too easy to run past defenders and then cut inside and just walk into the 6yrd box pass it back and bang - a goal every time. So awful. Worst goal possible.
