This forum drives me nuts some times. Every year it's the same, people panicing about how good Pro Evo's gonna be or how bad it might be. Will Fifa be better this year and are Konami just lazy?
I'm sick of people on here saying their not gonna buy Pro Evo if its got no edit mode...why? If its the better game then does it matter about kits. For people who keep saying Fifa is much improved this year, well i've played the demo on 360 and it was the same old tripe, unresponsive as ever.
What people should really think about is which one has the better gameplay, do you buy a game so you can look at it and think, that kit looks good or do you actually want to play a game that is as close to footie as you can get without knackering yourself out.
One thing i do agree on is, why are 360 owners paying more for their footie games and getting less stadiums and options.

I can see what you mean, The ammount of threads and posts being made is unreal. Nobody knows everything about the game yet. So buy it and if you don't like it which I highly doubt then just take it back to the fucking shop.

I seem to remember last year, there was more criticism about PES5 when it was released than there was this year about PES6. An i'm still playing PES5 to this day ;)

It happens every year. The invasion of newbies comparing it to the latest fifa game, making pointless threads with titles like "is bellamy at liverpool?", "at my hmv store they're giving them out 2 weeks earlier!" and asking questions no one knows the answer to yet.

To be honest, PES without an edit mode would be like FIFA without licences, i.e - SHIT, it dos'nt matter how good the gameplay is, but i for one dont like playing as West London Whites with plain kits, im sure some people would also aggree, but thats just my opinion!

hmmm. interesting opinion mate. To be fair it will annoy me if the edit mode is shit but it's just cosmetic. It's more about gameplay in my eyes, think back to ISS when all you got was national sides, four stadiums and that was it but hey it rocked. I know this would be a step backwards but it if it eventually results in a step forward, i.e. a fully licensed game next year, then it's all gravy.
P.S. no matter what people say, Fifa sucks arse.

I completely agree with you mate, the most important feature in any football game is, without a doubt, the gameplay because it is simply the football.

Regarding the licenses, I think there is no a step backward to Konami every year. On contrary, they have the french league this season and more national teams...I know some people will say that Konami dropped the Bundesliga, but we have to remember that the Bundesliga, actually, doesn't exist in PES5 but the german league and we were the ones that edit the game and patched it and we can make the same in PES6 through the edit mode or patching the game (on PS2, I am not sure what is gonna happen with 360)...to me, I prefer to edit it. So try to think about it, insighters....

You know, I came in here expecting to close this thread as there are so many flying about. But this is one of the best regarding PES6.

Not sure mate, may be they've improved the commentary and the Master league this season. However, I am optimistic and glad that Konami have fixed the weather in the Master league thus changing the atmosphere of the match and the gameplay completely......

Or is there a surprise in store?

Nah, probably not.

Anyway, is there any reviews out yet in the 360 magazines that can actually put some of the rumours to bed?

Perhaps we, as gamers, are just getting spoiled with games... I can remember playing baseball and nfl games where there were no team names, no player names, no player faces, yet the game was still fun. Heck, I remember when the xbox and ps2 came out, most of the faces tended to look the same. I suppose you can say "the technology is there". But just because the players and kits aren't 100% spot on, does that mean the game is going to suck? Graphics alone don't make the game. Most companies are willing to sacrifce the fun factor in order to make the game look a little more glossy and slick and hopefully sell a few more copies to unsuspecting buyers.

So perhaps it's not Konami being lazy, perhaps it's us... expecting too much right out of the gate.

In the same breath... it does irk me that we have to pay more money... you think companies would be sympathetic and knock the price down a little. It says to fans "we don't want you, the gamer, to feel shortchanged".

Am I upset that there may not be kit editing? Yes. But you know, when I think back... I rarely notice the kits that I didn't edit as looking unedited. The team name thing could be a distraction, but I think I can overcome it. The fact that I still play WE9, while games like Call of Duty and Oblivion collect dust says alot about the fun factor in the series. That's the most important thing when it comes right down to it. Will lack of edit features disappoint me? Yes... will I still have fun playing the game? If it's anything like WE9/PES5, a resounding yes! :)

Sorry for the long post...

What's annoying people most is the fact that Konami are taking the piss out of them. It appears Pro Evo 6 aint coming out on xbox, only 360, this means that unless you've got a ps2 your being fucked in the arse without lube!!

Owners of 360 have no option but to buy what appears to be a rushed, half arsed game. You can't buy the xbox version and run it on the 360. (nice way to make sure you get £50 off all 360 owners).

I just can't believe what i'm hearing in reguards of Konami, although it does make you understand why 360 got a next gen exclusive for the year, cos it's not even a finished game. PS3 owners will get a nice full game when it's out.

Konami must take a long hard look at themselves for making me and many others fork out £50 for their game, mind you i'd rather do that than buy Fifa, i'd rather rub a cheese grater over the tip of my johnson than buy a Fifa game.

Konami have had over a year to develop the 360 version and are happy to release, what appears to be, a beta version for Pro Evo 7 which they are obviously working hard on to keep Sony happy. As a 360 owner and a PS2 owner i'm now torn as to which machine to buy it on. This sums it up perfectly as to how much of a dissapiontment this game seems to be (if everything said on here is TRUE). Next gen = half arsed game or old school machine = cheaper to buy and more options.

I started this thread by saying I prefer gameplay over options and I stick by this, I will be buy the 360 version and no doubt love it but in the back of my mind I will still see a greedy Konami worker laying on a bed of bank notes, smoking a big fat doobies rolled with a £50 and laughing his cheeks off at the gulable public.

i agree with alf, every year the same story will PES be better than FIFA and blah blah, for the last time for the supposed PES fans outhere,we shouldn`t care if it has edit mode for kits or not, from the time that the gameplay is superb for yet another year, who cares if it has edit mode or not????iPES is so good that even if EA had taken all the licences from the club teams and KONAMI had the old names(Real Madrid as Navarra,Juventus as Pie Monte, etc etc) it would still have been the best of the best. And that`s because with PES you can play real authentic soccer with all the tense, the fouls, the atmosphere that a real life soccer match has!!!!!!!!PES includes all of the above that is why it is my most anticipated game every year now since i first played it named as ISS back on the PS 1(WINNING ELEVEN 3 1999),and afterwards from 2001 and after for the PS 2.

The waiting is nearly over.......27 October 2006 the beautiful game ..............

The great thing is that KONAMI is producing an unbelievably good game and what you do to thank them??You`re saying that they are lazy????because they haven`t maybe include editing mode on PES 6 for X360!!!!!!!!!!??????????C`mon don`t be greedy at least thank them that they actually released it for this console.Besides you`ll see better graphics than me
who i am stick to my PS 2!!!!!!!!

:)

i think the game is very close to perfection, the only things that need improving are the commentators and perhaps the little niggle fouls.as regards to the xbox 360 owners feeling agrieved that they havent got editing mode well its took 6 editions for it to get this good on ps2 so xbox will surely get better and better with each edition.

Its funny how in every pes so far there has been one line of commentary that has been outrageously bad. PES4 "he shoots, tell a lie, hes missed" PES5 "it may be a mis-hit but its off target" I wonder what PES6 will have?
