I'm with redmadlad..everyone recognises the bad things..what about the good things? for a starter there's no advantage when playing with barcelona I've noticed..body balance issues much more realistic..and the chants could be better but at least the game includes them..shooting is 100 times better, it takes skill and practice! not just running past the back 4 or walloping from 30 yards..with the latter chances are, you'll embarrass yourself..then there's through balls - in pes 08 you could have a top midfielder lofting a through ball, but it wouldn't be accurate 90% of the time, but in this one, the players link up so much better, going on runs, collecting passes..just play 08 and then this, the difference is clear to see.

I know this should probably be in the demo thoughts thread but I just felt the need to do it here. I know I'm by no means a regular poster, in fact I can't remember the last time I did but I do visit the site often enough to know peoples thoughts about the upcoming installment of our beloved pes. It pains me to say but I'm not too impressed with the demo, and I'm not going to back that up with a comment like fifa is better because it isn't, it's worse. I wonder what Konami really do for 12months? All the same old niggles that have plauged previous games are still present.

Seabass once mentioned that the Konami team watched plenty of matches and even went to the last world cup to really get the feel of football, I wonder what matches they've been watching?

When was the last time you saw a goalkick and all the back four stand on the dege of the box, inviting pressure from the strikers. Mind at least this time it appears the strikers take this advantage and not run to half way line like last years pes. Why can't I simply pass a square ball or even more importantly kick the ball backwards from a freekick? When I want to keep possesion I don't want to be forced to pump the ball forward or roll it to the nearest man, which inevetably goes straight into the wall and not out wide where I wanted it to go.

Throw-ins are the same, when the opposition have one right in their own corner, my players give them all the time in the world. I haven't noticed the annoying thing of the left winger wandering across to the right side yet but that's probably still there.

I did manage to get my defenders up for a free kick which was nice but then Agger refused to go back and just stood on the edge of their box while the keeper launched the ball inot my half.

I hope some things are now present in the full game, like changing weather which was suppose to be in the last version but clearly wasn't. Oh and I hope the computer players react better to the situation, like start flying into tackles when they need the ball when losing. A side note on this is that when playing the demo today, de rossi, while being controlled by the comp on my team, scythed through the back of henry and got himslef sent off. I was a bit miffed at this but looking back, he is dirty little get so I guess Konami noticed that.

Right, I've had my winge and hope the full game is great but I fear it will disappoint again. Lets hope the edit mode is better this time round. I say again, come on Konami, do some fecking work!!

Don't give Konami your money this year. They clearly don't deserve it. Sports games that are released annually rarely make big stides in gameplay. hold on this is just the demo, it will of been an early release of the game as such like fifa was it self, it didnt even have stadium atmosphere on the fifa demo or commentary so how we can all judge on the demo i don't know, and its the same every year, can we not do somet different this year we have the same amount of people criticise it and everything, we win some fans over we lose some fans over, i still believe tht pes is far better than fifa, fifa's gettin there but it just doesn't have the feel of pes does, i've not played the demo myself, but come on, they've added the edit mode in, it must take some time doing that, as it has to be done from scratch, due to it being next gen not on ps2, plus they have all new modes which they have worked on, why break the gameplay which has served us so well over the years, pes 08 wasn't that bad, if the lag wasnt there, and the slow downs in the main game, and the replays were spot on then that would of made the best pro game up to date, now the graphics have been brushed up abit, someone said tht before, same old stuff just done up graphics, well how can this be wen edit mode has been put in, be a legend is in there, and the new kits for the champiuons league is all in there. a demo is there just to show abit of the real game. someone also said about the ball being light, fifa was exactly the same, the ball just didnt move round the pitch like i'd expect it to, critism is good, but lets focus on the good points.

i dont think two people who have been on pesgaming so long are fifa fanboys somehow. i have several problesm with the demo it was never gonna be perfect they are highlighting this.

the attackers dont seem to make the right runs for me, passes are often hit hard even if the players right in front of you, you cant have switching players on manual without having to switch when one of your teams in possesion, nobody seems fast in the slightest, there some of my quarms, but i hate fifa soo....

Unlikely to be for PC though as they're happy to say that they frankly aren't bothered with the platform for any of their sports games.

If I'm exceptionally bored this weekend I'll leave my computer on overnight while downloading but I'm loathe to do it if I can't even use the PS2 controller.

Christ its only a day out and everybodys fuckin whinging about the demo.In all the pro's i played 1-6 there was a teething process.Everytime i got the the new game i was like this is shit and then you twig it and then is the best ive ever played.I have always needed to play at least 30 or 40 games to get the flow of the game and the more i play this the better is becomes.Ive been playing on top player and it was painfull at first but so was 2,3,4,5 and 6 but im now played about 50 times i becoming accustomed to the way it works and its pretty cool if you ask me.

One thing has come from playing pro is you have to give it a good crack before you pass judgement learn the game and then you get the rewards.

FIFA 09 (next gen) V PES2009 is a no brainer.

If you had played it....... then u would agree with me......

the outfield gameplay in FIFA 09 exactly like what I have been hoping and praying every year for Konami to implement in PES....

Whilst PES is not without its advantages over FIFA....FIFA 09 is really good...excellent in fact....I would recommend it to anyone.

Aye well.....I am PC gamer also and will be playing PES2009 this year or no footie game at all.....

.......but the best video game soccer experience this year is undeniably in the form of console (PS3 360) FIFA 09.
