Scoring from corners/headers

Does anyone have any tips on taking corners/heading?

I normally go Germany but I can't seem to win any headers.

I've tried just hitting the corner as normal, high arc corner, and controlling a player in the box (muller or podolski) who seem to have decent jumping/heading stats.

I've even tried going real and controlling ronaldo when hitting the corner as I've had a fair few scored into me by him playing online.

I've even tried different FK takers: Kroos, scheinsteiger, ozil, reus, gotze. I've also tried in-swing and outswing

I've also tried running from the front post to the back(Blue arrow), back to the front (Yellow arrow) and standing still (red x's)


I try to hit shoot just after the ball has peaked and starting to come down

It's definitely stats and timing needed.

I once played a guy in division 2 who scored 3 corners in one game :(

I score a few, not very often. Maybe 1 in 10-12 games. However I regularly win the header and just miss barely (I don't use teams with great stats).

I've found what works best is NOT to control anyone in the box manually.

I aim close to the 6 yard box but not too near the GK. I always use inside swerve (so need left footed player for right corner etc) BUT I put minimal swerve (allows for more power) and some dip.

Basically the area I aim is not too far from where the ball would go if you left the aim line as the default. Slightly outside though by 2 or 3 pushes of the joystick(or d-pad) away from goal . Also you'll need to aim a bit higher as it will be too low, I like mine to land in the middle of the goal give or take a few feet.

I fill the power bar up quite high, not to the end though but past the green portion and into the yellow (maybe orange I can't remember).

It will be fired in with power, I don't press shoot too early though, works better late imo or around when the ball is between 6-12 yards away.

With Swansea I score less headers per game, due to the different tactic, but I'm getting increasingly more effective when heading the ball. Playing with basic shot, Top Player, I score around 5/7 headers per 10 games, and probably around 4/5 headers per 10 goals. Right now is a bit late, but tomorrow I'll post my methods.

I'll need to spend an hour in free training practicing a guess. It just gets annoying if you're playing someone in the top 3 divisions (I'm in D7 atm) and it's 0-0 and they get a corner in injury time and score!
