I truly believe they could make this the best footy game out there if only they would listen - when it all goes correctly, as in the game actually doing what you're telling it, not necessarily the score line of the game, it's an amazing game, but when you're playing amazing yet every single shot of yours is saved no matter how impossible yet they score from the most basic of shots, you can't help but feel that you're an observer not a player.
If someone from KONAMI is actually reading this, which I somehow doubt, get that in your heads. We don't want to play and think we're just along for the ride, that the decision of who can score or who can defend is pre chosen. We want to be the player not the spectator and you have, at every step, made it so sometimes it just doesn't matter what we do. We may as well just get up and put down the control as you have just removed any interactivity from the game.
e.g.
Free kicks - it doesn't matter what I do, where I position myself, if that ball is goal bound and my keeper can't save it, that guy that I've ran back to mark the post will NEVER jump for it. Never. You decide if the opposition will score and I have absolutely no input. That's incredibly poor game design.
If the keepers throwing to the wing I can't f**king run. **slow clap for the design team**
If I header a ball out of the box it will almost always bounce centre and then almost always to an opposition player, at no point will any of my players EVER position themselves to even attempt to get the knockdown.
Sliding tackle? Now.... guess where that's going to bounce. And you tackle the opposition player it went to.. and where did that bounce? Sound familiar? You're not taking into account force and angles, etc. You're deciding which player it will bounce next to. That's poor design yet again.
There's just too much of this "roll the dice" "has decided what will happen" BS in the game in place (actively so) of actual player interaction.
Let us PLAY the game, not force us to watch with no ability.. no, not no ability, but actively TAKING AWAY our ability to play. Imagine that, you have actually made a game that TURNS THE F**CKING CONTROL OFF to give the AI an advantage!
How the hell can you not see this KONAMI?
