When the scripting kicks in, the AI always reacts the instant you press a button, while your players take virtual ages to do whatever you've told them to do. For instance, the AI will pull a feint or dummy within a microsecond of pressing the tackle button, but your player will not actually move to tackle until said feint animation has been initiated, at which point it's too late to be effective, and to top it off, your player is locked in the tackle/recovery animation sequence for roughly 3.74 years, meaning they can't even scramble to get back into position or try to pressure again. Similarly, the AI will throw out a foot to block a pass/shot sometimes even before the power gauge appears after pressing a button, let alone the actual passing animation, meaning your player is destined to pass straight into them, as there is rarely enough time to cancel, even if you see it coming.
Also, Konami, I am not kidding about this: sort out and implement the backpass rule. In the potential title decider yesterday, Real Madrid had outright backpasses picked up by their keeper FIVE times with nothing called. It seems as though a sliding, desperation backpass when under pressure is legal to pick up fir the AI, but after I scored in the 84th, Benzema waltzed through my entire team from the kickoff, took an easy shot which my keeper, naturally, spilled, and when my defender actually got to it, rather than clearing it instantly as I told him to, he hesitated, allowing Benzema to pressure him, causing the ball to hit Benzema's arm, then back to my defender's feet, who tripped over it, causing it to roll back towards my keeper, who fell down as though he intended to smother it, but instead pulled his arms away, intentionally avoiding it, letting it roll by him towards the goal, at which point Benzema walked around him and put it in with no further challenge from any of the five players then in my 18-yd box.
F*ck scripting.
