Time Saver: If you don't like long posts just move on to something else 
Just as a comparison, and to test how well people really know these football games, I played 1 game each of PES2010, PES2009, Fifa 10, and Fifa 09 with the objective of comparing differences in the games. For each game I played Barca v. Barca and played on the standard difficulty (regular(PES) or professional(FIFA)).
Read each description and use your familiarity with the characteristics of each game and see if you can guess which game I was playing for each match. If you would like, explain your answer for each one(Answers tomorrow).
Here is a synopsis of each game (in no particular order):
Match #1
Notable events:
CPU plays ball to forward running toward endline and proceeds to dribble straight out of bounds despite sufficient space to stop.
CPU Messi dribbles back and forth at the edge of the box 5 or 6 times and finally crosses the ball directly into my defender. Corner.
CPU Henry on counter attack down the left side dribbles directly out of bounds.
My counter attack through the center. Henry starts a run behind the backline and just as I make a through pass he stops running.
CPU down the left. Passes to Messi, he dribbles out of bounds.
Messi down the right, I cut into the box. Puyol blocks the shot but apparently commits a penalty (the replay shows he neve touched Messi). 1-0 me.
Ball played over the back line to my forward. He stops dead, turns around and looks at me, then decides to run after the ball, outruns the two defenders who never stopped running and tracks the ball which is then tackled out by the CPU. Goal Kick to CPU even though replay clearly showed the ball coming off the defender.
Ball crossed from the left to back post, pass back to trailing runner, try to pass the ball laterally but for some reason it goes back to the forward. Offsides.
CPU Messi counters on the right in stoppage time, cuts in toward goal, shot goes into the side net. But wait...Puyol who goes for a tackle just after the shot and never touches Messi is called for a penalty. 1-1. game ends.
Match #2
Messi down the right. Cross into the box misses everyone and goes over the endline.
Toure down the right side crosses to the back post. Henry heads it in. 1-0 me.
Fights for possession. Ball turns over 4 or 5 times. Henry runs the length of half the field, fires a shot at the GK and it hits off of his hand. 2-0 me.
Kickoff. CPU Messi down the right. Crosses the ball. Defender knocks it to the other team at the top of the box. Shot, GK kick save, ball deflects of keepers foot up into the net. 2-1 me.
Ibra down the middle. Through ball to an uncovered Messi on the right. Hard cross to Ibra. Unable to get a shot off. Ball picked up by GK.
Goal kick headed towards touch by Abidal. Tracks the ball down. Pass to Puyol. Attempt to pass forward goes lateral instead. Turnover.
CPU Messi makes nice spin move dribbling toward the box.
Ball over back line to Messi. Volley attempt goes over bar due to height of ball off the pitch when shot attempted. Same thing for Xavi a minute later.
Game ends 2-1 me.
Match #3
Messi down right, two defenders cover. Tackle attempted by CPU. Messi dribbles over touch avoiding the tackle attempt.
Messi down right, ground cross intercepted by CPU Puyol.
Forward receives through ball which is tackled away. Ball recovered, pass back to forward, intercepted by CPU.
Messi down right. Cross into box intercepted by the GK.
Marquez yellow card. CPU Free kick tipped over endline by GK. Corner headed near post. CPU Alves goal. 1-0 CPU.
Kickoff. Iniesta down left loosely defended. Cross to forward. Ball falls to his feet. Shot. Goal. 1-1.
Lateral pass attempt goes backward instead.(?)
Messi down right. Cross into box. 3 shots stopped during scrum. Ball cleared.
Game ends 1-1.
Match #4
Kickoff. Pass right immediately tackled into touch by CPU.
CPU Toure passes ball into my feet.
Free kick to by CPU Alves to CPU Ibra at top of box. Shoots a volley between the 2 defenders in front of him. GK parries shot out of bounds.
Shot off of corner parried out again.
Next corner flicked on to CPU Henry who heads a rainbow ball over my keeper. 1-0 CPU.
Kickoff. Pass to Messi immediately closed down by 2 defenders. Turnover.
CPU Henry tries to chip keeper. Ball is tipped high in the air by the GK. Ibra outjumps my keeper and heads the ball in. 2-0 CPU.
Kickoff. Pass to Messi. Passed back in to Ibra. Passed back out to Messi up the flank and tackled by CPU Henry. Red Card CPU Henry.
Halftime.
CPU attack. Defender fails to clear the ball far enough. Turnover. Shot. Goal. 3-0 CPU.
Messi up the right. Cuts into the box. Try to pass across goal but instead a soft pass to the grateful keeper.
Cross into box. CPU Defender's head ball into air twice. Falls to Henry.
Goal. 3-1. CPU.
Kickoff. CPU turns ball over and then immediately tackles back the ball. CPU Ibra dribbles to endline. Ball looks like it is going out but Ibra slides and crosses the ball to Messi in the box. 4-1 CPU. Game ends.
