even when the player has an open goal and there is 1 defender blocking the goal, he hits it straight at the defender who blocks it. Look angelojornan, for you it might be hard to score open goals with 1 defender blocking it but even kuscack can score a goal like that blind-folded

I'm having trouble with the shooting as well. Basically just auto shoots and most of the time its straight down the middle which is complete rubbish. I don't see why Konami don't give you control on what side it goes.
Thanks for the advice, but I think my 26 years of playing the game, 32 years of watching religiously, and 7+ years with this game in its various forms has given me a decent enough education about "the real life soccer."
I can walk in alone on a GK, 1-on-1, and the game will auto direct my shot. Every single time. The only way to score is by dribbling the keeper, or doing some gimmicky chip or placement (that konami directs for you as well).
My 6 year old niece can put the ball in the direction she wants to when she has time and space, why can't my professionals?
Simply put for the 100th time, SHOOTING IN PES IS FUCKING RETARDED.

I agree with you abu97, it is a bug or even something to fix. All in all I liked the shooting at pes 12, but certainly there are some work to be done!!
You should understand angelojornan that the point of topics is to agree with the OP and feed the flame with some extra frustration & witty dissing.
Not to tell ppl differing opinions or offer explonations / solutions.

Konami just screwed up shooting.... fixed something and screwed up the most important thing of the gome!!!! Scoring... why do I want a game that doesn't let me put the ball where I want to!? :realmad:

Exactly. This is how konami "fixes" the GK problem....by equally fucking up shooting.
Played a 2-2 draw recently where I must have had 15 one-on-one's and hit 14 of them straight at the keeper. L2 (changed my buttons), L1, nothing worked. The one shot that the keeper didn't save went wide left, even though I was trying to go right...
If you take your football gaming seriously, you should probably pass on this game....Unless you enjoy konami deciding where you should shoot....
Or wait for a patch.....
Or PES 2013; I'm sure konami will get it right by then....

The Solution
I found out how to aim perfectly.
Tap square as well as the direction when shooting.
If you want to shoot higher/harder full the gauge and tap the direction when releasing square.
