Shooting and crossing tips (basic)

I used your tip Lee with the L2 shots and i works as a treat when I did one with Etorri.
However, when you press shoot just before you actually kick the ball, it sometimes fills up the power bar and sails over. I probably need to practise in the timing in training

Yeh it has to be a split second before you hit the ball or at the same time.

This is also how you do Knuckle shots in freekicks which are almost impossible for a keeper to save.

Before taking the freekick push forward with the Left stick, press shoot, then just before the player strikes the ball, press shoot again, THE POWER GAUGE SHOULD NOT FILL UP ANYMORE.

If you do this right, the ball when moving through the air won't spin, but will dip and swerve before it gets to the keeper. It's a great technique for freekicks over 32 metres, best to aim at the middle on the goal, if you get enough swerve on the ball, the keeper will look foolish. I scored a cracker from 37 metres out with a player whos freekick stats were only 77.

Going to try this technique on using direction of the shots. I will try using the different pad for shooting. So up and down, is that to direct it high or low, or is that to direct it left or right? As left or right i find it difficult to get it right.

Up on the D-pad is for shooting left and down is for shooting right (if your opponent's goal is on the right side of the pitch that is, otherwise the other way around). Shot power decides if ball goes high or low.

I'll start training - can any player do knuckle free kicks regardless of power or freekick style

I dont understand how I should aim for Near or Far post.
However how many times have u guys been on the wing with a defend on you and your striker is about10 feet away(not far) and is drifting away from his marker and requires just a slight lobb over both defenders for your forward to just head it home but when u cross it, its way off. How can I correct this?

What you want to do here is cross to the near post, yes? So I would hold R2, Double Tap Cross and push the analogue towards the touchline, like I want to cross the ball out for a throw, into the stands, in the opposite direction to where the striker is. R2 will add accuracy and remove power from the pass. Double Tapping cross will result in flatter cross & aiming towards the touchline will result in a cross to the near post & it will likely pick out the closest attacker. If you push the analogue towards the target attacker, the cross will go towards the far post and will be overhit. I hope that helps.

I don't think any player can do them, I suggest training with C.Ronaldo for a bit, It got to the stage that every freekick I attempted was a knuckle shot after quite a bit of practice though so I tried with my ML team in training and although I could do them with a few of the players the margin for error seemed a lot thinner than with C.R.

As for the double press of shoot in open play, holy shit have I scored some crackers, the ball dips at the last second, meaning sometimes they dip under the cross-bar or if it's low enough, dips just in front of the keeper making him look quite foolish.

Now in the start of my 5th season 4 matches in and even though I have only scored 4 goals. 3 have been the double tap shoot from 25 yards plus, and the 3rd was an attempted Knuckle shot which although I got wrong, was still a double tap shot which dipped infront of Cech and went between his legs in the centre of the net. My DMF has scored all my goals lol.

I play PES 2012 on PC and I use a XBOX 360-controller to play it.

Like most people I found that most shots somehow ended up in the guts of the keeper even if I believed I aimed it perfectly into the corner or anywhere else for that matter.

But I think I figured it out now....and I know this has been mentioned here and there before, but just for the sake of saying it again:
try using the D-pad for aiming towards the corners (whereas shot power decides if it'll be in the upper or lower corner)

Hopefully someone out there finds this helpful.

I uploaded a video showing an example of a placed shot using the technique described above: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8eAoCvPaCX4&feature=youtu.be

are you assuming press UP or DOWN (regardless of the direction of the player)?
or we must press in a direction 90 degrees relative to the direction of travel?

Just up or down. its a traditional thing in PES and by doing that automatically makes your free kick more powerful

anybody has some suggestions on 1-on-1? I feel it's become harder to round the goalie after the latest patch was released.

I beg your pardon?

I'll usually try to chip the keeper when he leaves his line. Doesn't work every time but plenty. If I'm a bit further on I'll just be changing direction when he moves then slotting it in. No fancy tricks or anything just good timing.

does the fake shoot(hit square and press X immediately) works during a online game? If yes, whats the success percentage for scoring using this method?

Works online and timing isn't very important so if you do it anywhere near the keeper, the keeper will dive and give you an empty net. It CAN fail though, but unlikely

Well, nice tips for shooting.. (not). I can hit every corner off the goal by just pressing forward and shoot. The ball will randomly leave my feet and choose a corner on it's own.
And I don't know why people are complaining about a difference between fifa and pes, cause their is almost non.

Both games are scripted as hell. Just played 3 games with ajax against feynoord. The same games to be exact. Because after I lost the first one thanks to some scripted play I wanted to start over.
I lost my first game 1-2 with 20 shots on target against 2 for the COM, they had an impossible keeper. That last goal was just awefull so I decided to start over.
Second game I was leading 1-4 in the first half. After the break they did the impossible, not coming back in the game, cause that is possible, but the way they did that. My keeper was like a statue, didn't move at all their 3 goals, their keeper was suddenly invincible again. And the 5-4 was just dramatic. In the last second a shot came right at my keeper, but instead of catching it, he tries to control it with his feet, what off course didn't work, and they scored.
In FIFA I had the same problems. A thousand shots on target and still lose because off those stupid scripted moments.
