Shots Outside The Box...amf Vs Cmf???

What's the ideal position and defensive level to make a player like Scholes/ Gerrard or Lampard able to stay Ideally just at the edge (and not enter) the 18 yard box to fire some powerful shots?

Whats the difference of say a CMF with low defense arrow and a forward attack arrow vs an AMF with high defense arrow and a forward attack arrow in this regard?

Thanx anyone.

Sometimes IO may set op the CMF or DMF exactly in the cntre (Where he'd go if I was playing a 'diamond formation) when setting up, I dont have any arrows on him, this way when I have a corner or something and the ball spills just outside the box, it sometimes falls to him. Hope that helps, it doesnt work 100% of the time but does help.

Thanks. I've been tinkering & tried placing my AMF on medium or High defense with an arrow going backwards & this seems to work best.
Anyone know why CMF's seem to slip deeper into the box than AMF's do?

The difference is their nature, simple as that really. CMF's are more defense minded, AMF's are more attack minded. Whatever you do to configure them, you will never change their natures. Just do whatever's best for the way you play.

Thanks. But does anyone know why CMF's tend to go deepr into the box then AMf's? What can be done to make CMF's come up to about just the outside edge of the 18 yard box to tak long distance shots? Or do AMF's with backwards arrows do this better?
