Sick of playing against the top teams

first, i've been really enjoying this game but now its getting really boring

i personally don't care what team my opponent picks and i usually play with usa and some lesser known teams. the thing is even i pick one of these teams 99% of the time i still end up playing with the elite teams such as barca, madrid, milan, inter even master league team with all the star players you can imagine. and it annoys the hell out of me. i mean, is it too much to ask to have an oponent who doesnt pick the best teams? it's really boring playing against barca/madrid over and over again.

I'm not whining '"it's not fair" and again i don't have problem with people choosing the bigger teams. i just hope once in a while i can play a head to head game but it's not yet happened except with my friends.

btw, the 13-0 one i picked madrid only because he said (quoting his words) i'd be f**ked if i used USA :blush:

lol this is happening to me more and more. i started using bolton or blackpool against those bigger teams and still win. there was 1 instance i random-ed uzbekistan while the dude picked barca and i tied with him when he went up 2 on me.

Somedays ago i got an epic match: Boca Juniors x Internacional (BR). I lost by 2x1, but it was the best match ever. Really fun. But it is one case in dozens.

Anyway, i play for fun, so i keep picking "alternative" teams. The last i picked: Internacional (BR), Chile, Wolfsburg, Lyon, Schalke 04, Werder.

IMO, it's boring to pick those top teams, because in many situations the top players "do the job" for you because of the high attributes.

Join match lobby, create a room. Check out the last 5 teams the person has used, then kick them if they're all big teams. This is the advice I give to most people, it's what I do. It means it may take you a while to get a match, but you won't have to play the big teams.

i agreed with you. this really is just a game after all.

funny story. just beat a barca boy with usa, he asked for a rematch, and then he switched to ML team (ibra, c ronaldo, messi etc). and this guy quited on me while i was playing as denmark and winning 5-1.:no:

yup im from the states
its funny when you pick even the worst team yet ppl aint willing 2 budge from their comfort zone (elite teams)
but nothing can beat the feeling of owning them noobs

thats definetly a good idea but it would take ages to find a right opponent. and i don't think i would have the patience for that since its already hard for me to get a decent match as the way it is.

Is it still possible to rename your match lobby? Because if it is, maybe change it to "small teams only" or something like that. I used to that a few years ago, although my motto was "no replays" as I was sick and tired of people watching gaol celebrations and replays for ages.

That really pisses me off. You see someones profile and its like Favorite Team "Galatasaray" but they are only Man Untd or Madrid. When I play I'm usually Villarreal and I love beating the "elite" teams as well.

That doesn't work, I used to do "small teams" only people just ignore it. But tbh I have had some variety online - played some Napoli's, Monaco, Valencia. You know I usually find that the players who pick rare teams tend to be the best imo.

Guys, I had started a thread with a poll last year regarding the same issue. there were about 50 voters with 90% of them voting for a system to encourage people to use other teams.

check theese guys out on the ps3... domestic league ,international league and a player managers league all non elite teams and elite nation's and no cheap tactic's just decent respectfull games of pes

Sometimes...just sometimes...I enjoy playing as Real Madrid!

Now I may have to go and scrub myself with bleach for saying that but there it is it's out there now. And why shouldn't I? When my MLO team have turned into a pack of Brambles overnight and I've played against them for the umpteenth time why shouldn't I enjoy 'Pro Evo lite' as I'm now naming it. So much simpler, much more nicer to watch, a few tricks, a few long shots...things my MLO team just can't do ('cos they're crap!)

Now, before you all start laying into me I will add that there's one thing that I do adhere to and that is sadly lacking in the wider PES community..respect. If the opponent chooses a more obscure team and he's not rated higher than me then I'll try to choose someone similar, my personal favourite is picking their biggest rivals/derby.

I think though that you should have to earn the right to use the big teams, unlock them or whatever, what are people's thoughts? Anyone else going to admit to their dirty secret too lol?

Like Mr Bell says, most just ignore it. I even put "NO BIG TEAMS", in capital letters and everything. When I kick people, sometimes you get abuse, get called scared and everything. One guy had a proper go at me because I wanted to play with smaller teams (a Madrid user obviously). Obviously this makes me a scared littly pussy doesn't it? :laugh: The real scared pussies are those who are afraid to use anything less than the best teams.

I get more satisfaction out of scoring a great goal with lesser players.

Earning the right is an interesting suggestion, though I doubt it will ever happen.

My dirty secret is that I have a PES man-crush on Del Piero :wub:

Hi to all, It's my first message here..And I totally agree with the aim of the post.
I always take very small teams and I would like to reccomend you South Korea, it's really unbeliavable, and though, the default tactics are really perfect for my game!
Try to play with that team!

If there is anyone who wants to challenge me with small teams i'm montystefy also in my PSN.
