Hi to anyone that can help me out.

Basically,I have recently had to trade my old PS3 system for a replacement because my older one was broken.
I need to know what would happen if I copied my older systems system data onto the newer replacement,to save me time from unlocking everything again. I have the older system data on my USB stick, but would it corrupt the new system in any way?
Thanks

never tried so don't know the full answer to the question but when I read your question it instantly came to mind that you might have to name your PS3 account and PSN account the same as your older machine. Might not have to as well to but I would do it to save aggravation.

knock on wood that the ylod will not happen to my original fat machine. but from reading up if thats what happened to your PS3 and you saved your save data utility and ported to a new machine it should be just fine.

regarding PSN as long as you know your username and password you can link it to your new machine. Found that out as I was trying to add new users to my PS3 but it wouldn't let me online with the same machine using an existing account but appeared it would with a new machine

I still don't know about loading my old system data to my new machine,Does anyone else have some input please,I don't want to mess this up,If worse comes to the worse I will just have to start from scratch again, thats hoping my new console doesn't brake again !

i would thing the only thing that would be messed up is your pes system data - but not your PS3 itself. If the system file doesnt' match it would just label it as corrrupt, be unusable, but won't hurt anything. I have seen this with import files that I have changed the folder number to avoid repeats (don't do by the way).
