Some thoughts on PES improvements

I've been a PES player now since the original ISS. I have bought every game since then and enjoyed them. However, I recently bought FIFA09 for the Xbox 360. I'm not going to make any comparisons here but I have found that PES has many areas it could improve. Here are some of my key improvements:

1) Speed of the game
PES seems to be too unrealistically fast. This detracts from the reality of it. In real football, usually defenders has acres of space and passing movements are usually built up from the back to open spaces. However, in PES, defenders are usually closed down unrealistically quick due to attacking players being way too fast. It also means that players, especially online, just choose the likes of Man Utd and Barcelona and run down the wing with Ronaldo and Messi etc. The game depends far too much on speed rather than real football aspects such as passing and tactics to open spaces.

2) Referees needs to be more life-like
Red cards are given out far too easily on PES. Also referees need to make mistakes like award offside when it's not and vice versa or not give a penalty when it clearly is etc. They also need to be brought more into play and have the ball be able to hit them and deflect off them.

3) CPU needs to stop cheating
The computer needs to be more balanced and win through tactics rather than through unreal dribbling through defence or completely obvious cheating via unrealistic rebounds etc.

4) Commentary
This needs to be more realistic and is one area when the game lacks. Similar to the ability to inputs crowd chants, it would be a good idea to be able to insert team names. So that when people edit their teams, they can also insert real commentary for them teams to hear them in game rather than non-specific generic commentary.

5) Crowd chants
There needs to be either more crowd slots for chants or slots needs to be longer to allow full half cheers without hearing the same ones repeated.

6) Touchline action
Needs to be more life on the touchline such as cameramen, police/stewards, substitutes warming up etc.

7) Custom tactics
Need to be able to customise tactics to a much more detailed level making it feel genuinely managerial rather than arcadey settings.

8) Teamwork
Need to have detrimental effect of teamwork. This would stop people playing players out of position just cos they're fast. Perhaps if players are out of position or team is unbalanced it could detract from the teamwork and create weaknesses in teams. This could be reflected by stats in players out of position etc being lowered by a percentage.

9) Licenses
This is a major weakness of PES. More licenses would be good. However, if it is impossible, then create much, much more editable and ML-able team slots to allow full league systems not just top leagues of each country.

10) Online communities
Need to introduce community mode online allowing custom leagues and competitions.

11) Improved editing
Need more editing options, such as being able to create and edit stadiums etc.

These are what I can think of at the moment. I may edit and add more as I go on....

There should also be more types of soccer balls

The graphics should be brilliant
They should be in 1080p
With brilliant animations and effects etc.
Then more people will buy PES2010
