Some tips for shooting

I can understand some peoples frustrations with the shooting but I myself am loving it, it reminds me of the system used for pes 4 but this system seems more contextual. The only thing that irritates me is sometimes the shot going in the wrong direction, but even this can be avoided most of the time in my own experience.

This thread isn't to patronise anyone, I just wanted to share my findings

- The amount of power needed is dependent on the situation, if the ball is closer to the body you will need to generate more power, if you are running onto the ball with momentum a lighter amount of power will be needed.

- Create an angle, you can create many shot types just by the way you position your player and the distance between you and the ball

- The amount of power needed is more this year, konami change this every year, last year you needed to apply less power on shot whereas this year more power is needed.

- When choosing your direction push hard on the analog, the same goes for manual passing with LT, you have to be firm with the direction you want. Since realising this I have less instances of shots going in the wrong direction.

The shooting system is designed to replicate real life and the instinctive nature of striking a ball, many factors come into play when taking on a shot not just a case of choosing power and direction.

one on onesi hard to aim as they always go wide or straight and it's harder to place unlike real life where you can place or curl it to the corner

I've tried many things to place a ball in the corner..

RT+ X
LT+ X
RB+ X
LB+ X (lob)

nothing seems to work really, I don't understand other people can aim their shots meanwhile mine are 9 out of 10 times going straight at the keeper..

Just going off my own experiences, if I fuck up a shot I can usually see why. I have however had a few of those straight at the keeper attempts where its hard to see what I did wrong. LT manual pass can also be a nice way to finish past the keeper if your struggling with one on ones, tried it in training a few times seems to work quite well.

So when you shoot, do you use X only or X + RT? Do you aim before charging a shot?
Really, this game is awesome but sometimes the useless straight shots at the keeper pisses me off, especially when it happens 3 times in a row..

I dont use RT placed shot very often , but starting to use it more. I tend to just use X and if want to place a shot I try to position my player correctly ie making sure he is at an angle and the correct distance from the ball. What I do really depends on the type of shot, if i want a powerful shot into the corner I make sure I have enough backlift and push hard on the desired direction whilst powering up, obviously stats come into play and you have to judge this depending on the player.

Sorry if this is not clear but its quite hard to explain without the game in front of me. For placed shots I power up whilst firmly holding the desired direction and then click RT. Always keep an eye on how far the ball is from your player. The position of your player in relation to the ball is crucial.

yes you can mate but only try it with the manual modifier, you have a 360 ratio as well so it can be effective when placing the ball past the keeper, can be very tricky though I wouldn't use it all the time

I have totally got shooting this year, I agree like pes 3&4!

I use RT and shoot when on the edge of the box usually, when running parallel to the goal, this usually puts it in the bottom far corner.

In the box I just tap shoot

Further out from the box I use low-medium power.

Never charge it up full. Scoring quite a lot of goals when I shoot. Its just getting into positions I'm finding hardest!

Scored a great goal yesterday, just like Giggs's FA cup goal against Arsenal in 99. Ran into the box on the left and thought 'fuck it' and powered it up full not expecting to score, then left foot srike with David Villa and it went in and hit the roof of the net over the keeper! EPIC!

Hope konami comes with a patch to solve auto aiming

You don't know if they are aware of this problem. They should check Facebook, their Youtube channel more often. Same goes for Jon Murphy's twitterpage... I've been sending messages to Facebook etc etc about this problem but ofcourse they don't respond.

They were aware of the bad goalkeepers, so they will eventually change the auto aiming. The question is how long it will take before they will change it..
