The game is still overlooking pennas and other free kicks and the gameplay hasn't changed and no patch ever will change the gameplay until PES 2011. It would be so difficult to get a patch that effects data that is read only on a disc. Edit data yes, but not gameplay.

It's physcological that some people think the game has changed and it is more of trying to convince themselves. The only time I seem to get a penalty is when my player is brought down whilst doing a step over or some over skill.

The only way to make the game more enjoyable is to make the teams super offensive and just accept the bad parts until the next release.

So please, stop spouting garbage that the latest patch has fixed this, that and the other when all it has done is changed some balls and boots.

I didn't notice the penalties either, but you have to be completely blind not to notice the change in smoothness, and the slightly slower game speed. By slightly, I mean slightly, but it's there.

I am blind........................................

No just kidding (obviously). Seriously? How can a patch effect gameplay? The game is being processed off the disc and the main features of the game are packed into the disc. How can Konami release something to change the core of the game? Edit Data and System Data yes because the game is loking in a location for that but not gameplay. Some games it seems smooth, some not but that isn't anything to do with the patch.

That's what patches are for genius.

There have been numerous games in the past that have had gameplay fixed by patches, and it's usually a small bit of data that yep, you guessed it, "patches" broken parts of the game.

Of course patches can do this, like the other guy said thats what patches are for.

They've been used to change games especially bugs in games. Thats changing the game.

Maybe for the PC but not for consoles like PS3 and XBox.

Home consoles aren't disk read only. They basically put code on the disc to check for patches on the hard drive first, and to implement that patch code if there is indeed a patch.

So yes, for the PS3 and Xbox360 too.

The ps3 and xbox 360 are modern consoles so they'll have the same capabilities as the PC. They can connect with the internet so you can get patches like the PC.

Of course home consoles can use patches - its not like the disc runs straight through the processors onto the screen - ever heard of RAM?

I have to disagree. (I've played the patched version on the ps3 and pc)

The goalkeepers are far better, and this isn't just a 'stat increase' that's caused this. I know this because on the PC version, i used a global editor to improve all GK skills to 99, and it actually made little difference.

I'm seeing one handed saves, i'm seeing the GK parry the ball much further, i'm seeing less fumbles, and better handling.

I've also discovered that individual players have improved. For example, a lot of players turning animations have improved, and the niggling shooting delay has gone.

The game in general feels smother and less robotic....in fact it feels quite fluid.

The biggest difference is the CPU AI. It's vastly improved. It's very attack minded and varied. Playing against the AI pre patch was boring as there was little attacking threat.

How you can say the game hasn't changed is beyond me mate. I can't believe people are having trouble noticing it. It's night and day.

Sorry but there seems to be some mass delusion going on here - the above simply isnt true - I am playing the ML as Aberdeen and in my
1st season so far I have let 2 goals in, in 8 games. The AI has about 1 shot a game, mostly the other time is spent passing the ball around the back 4. I havent edited the attack balance on the ML div 2 sides yet (I understand it is in the PES shop). But there is no difference between the pre - patch version and post - patch on PS3 that I can see. Wishful thinking me thinks. If they had have done something surely they would have told us - wouldnt they?

^In master league it seems to play easier as seasons go by. It has been like this in every pes I played, even 5 and 6.

I think the emphasis on my post sums your reply up perfectly - PHYCOLOGICAL.

There is no way the patch has done this. I keep scoring from tight angles through the keepers legs, they keep parrying it into the net so as far as I'm concerned nothing has changed in that aspect.

Individual players improved? Again disagree, nothing's changed unless Konami edited player cards and stats on the players.

Button delay still there......

Teams don't attack you, even at 3-0 down they still spray the ball around like they are 3-0 up.

90% of goals are outside the box because defenders don't close you down.

Don't kid yourself, I've been a massive fan of PES since the SNES days but this one for me is the only one I was left in denial, trying to make excuses for it but I've come to terms with it. I'll never go to FIFA because that is garbage as well.

The one thing that frustrates me is that they had a good structure there in PES 2009, they should of just built on the bad parts and in doing that (coupled with the unbelievable animations and graphics), we'd of had an unbelievable game. Why take away simple stuff like adding and taking away wall members? Referees being poor. No advantages? Quick free kicks? Not being able to swap players in ML, Random selection match (in none of the PS3 games and it was ace), the list goes on. This is the first year EVER that the bad outweigh the good on PES.

I think the AI has changed definitely, but I wouldn't say that they are necessarily more attack minded. They are certainly not more effective from what I have noticed either, in fact the game almost seems easier to me now (top player). I have definitely noticed pretty much all the other changes that most people are in agreement about.

This guy JAYJAY makes me laught btw. Totally hilarious IMO.

As mentioned in here already: Wouldn't konami say something about these famous changes? If they implemented them via the patches i doubt they'd keep it a secret. They'd be flying high on a sky of self-complacency. I don't see the point in only letting us know some of the content of the patch when we download it.

^I guess so, but even in pes 2009, when the change with patches was obvious, Konami didn't say a word. But still the game feels smoother and slightly slower. Those are the 2 changes I noticed the most.

Yeah its definetly a slower pace which is great and more realistic makes a big difference in the gameplay.

I have not seen any more penalties, but definetly less yellow cards. The AI on your teammates are also alot better now than before the patch when you play BAL. You need to create a new game to notice the effects though.
