I have been a long time defender of PES for years when virtually everyone else I know plays FIFA, this years PES sounded promising then I played it.......It is horrendous to play, the running animations make the players look constipated, the shooting has no power and very little control (or too much control if you look at it that way), the graphic look like they are from a PS2 (I had to double check I'd been given the 2012 version !). Dont even get me started on the cut scenes / menus and the player ratings ! all round it is a disaster of game, and thats from me as a day one week one PES fan.

I am massively massively disapointed =(

FIFA has a whole different raft of flaws but remains less annoying than PES 2012 to play.

There probably should be a sticky "moan about PES 2012"-thread.. :p

I haven't played the full game yet, still waiting for my UK version to arrive.. (I live in Norway.. :p) I'm trying not to have high hopes because of all the negativity and moaning on this site, but I enjoyed the two demos, so I probably will enjoy the full game aswell.. ;-)

I have never liked FIFA, I always tought it was a good game but not fun to play for me. I read and heard great things about FIFA 12, so I thought I should give it a shot. Bought it two days after launch, traded it after two days for a Battlefield 3 pre-order.. :p It was really boring (for me). The gameplay doesn't suite me, and I don't "feel" the passes and shooting like I do in PES. I didn't feel like I accomplished something when I scored. In PES I get really emotionally involved, in FIFA I got bored fast and I didn't care when I scored. Another thing about FIFA that I really hated is the lack of strategy. It didn't feel like it mattered what formation or play style I played. And also, what's the point in having a full squad when there is no player form? Why bother making that many players when they won't be used because you just use the best players all the time?

Anyway, FIFA is a good game in many aspects, but not for me.. :-/

I've decided that if I don't like PES (something I think is HUGELY unlikely :p) then I won't play any of this years football-games, simply because there is no alternative for me..

Thank god I have other games to play just in case, deeply involved in Forza 4 now, and soon Battlefield 3 and Skyrim! ;-) If I like PES this year I'm set gamingwise until PES 2013. ;-)

you be hugely disapointed by the shooting =( build up play is great but then normally spoilt by your professional footballer a) putting it out the stadium or b) shooting with the power and conviction of a 5 year old girl

Had no problem with the shooting what so ever! Ive played every PES that has existed, and I have to say this is in my top 2 easily, could even be my favourite. Its like PES 5&6 combined! Features of 5 and playability of 6!

There has been negativity with EVERY PES game don't worry...

At first the shooting felt strange, the more i play the better it is. Pes 2012 is truly a fantastic game of soccer. I have been caned every team ive played and i am totally comfortable with this .

The reason being is that i lost because of me and not the game, goodness me you have to keep your concentration for the full game. The AI plays fantastically well at times. Great stuff.

shooting is the worst thing i have ever experienced - someone with 99 shot accuracy and one on one finish effortlessly hits it and it just doesn't have any feel. FIFA and pes have good gameplay, pes being the most fun and fifa most realistic but they are both good in heir own ways.
Passing is great apart from you can't pass to someone far if therre is anonther temate closer regardless of the power you put in.
Also the shooting power bar is crap as if you tap it it'll go fiercely high so you can't curl it without r2 eventohough r2 shots are bugged and you can't hit it low from out the box

The reason you complain about the shooting is because you don't know how to do Manual Shots.

And graphics from PS2? What, are you ACTUALLY playing on a PS2 or something, the graphics are good, far better than FIFA.

no ravex, this year fifa has equal graphics- i mean come on, they look 3d unlike cardboard player faces and cardboard pitches and carboard blurred fans. This year fifa has great faces, have you seen joe hart? in pes, they ruin the eyes and the no emotion in their faces unlike fifa.
But pes have improved in gameplay so everything has swapped from pes 2011

Please elaborate on how you perform a well executed shot then :) Or a shot where you at least get to decide power and direction. Sometimes, even if i score, i get mad because i press the directional button in the opposite side of where my player places the ball.
