I'm going to use this thread to post ideas to improve on PES 2011.
I did this last year, and it appears a lot of stuff actually made it into the game... As a direct result, I can't say for sure... But who cares, I just want the best PES possible.
It may be a bit late to add these, as I only just now got the game, but what the hey... PES 2011 is going to have my attention for a while, so I thought I'd give some feedback.
1. Make feints easier- Feints have changed this year, with the addition of the "Link Feints" feature, but they still need to be easier to pull off. The difficulty arises mainly from two things:
1. The overly complicated set of input commands needed to pull them off, and...
2. The need to pull off R-stick moves relative to the direction a player is facing.
Solution:
1. Simplify the input commands as much as possible. The less button to press and movements to make, the better.
2. Add an option for a "fixed direction" when using the R-stick moves, like what currently exists for the Link Feints. As it is now moves don't always register, and having down on the R-stick always be mapped to a certain move would make it a lot easier to pull off, rather than having to take into consideration which direction a player is facing.
2. Add an option to practice feints in training mode- As it is now you have to pause the menu, scroll through a bunch of complicated commands, then back out of the pause menu and hope you have the move memorized...
Way too complicated.
I suggest 1. Make the moves easier, as noted above in suggestion #1, and...
2. Add a specific sub-mode in the training section, named "Practice Feints" for the specific purpose of learning and perfecting feints. In this mode there would be one player on the pitch, with the option of adding a defender to go up against. Then on screen you could list a move and it's command, which would allow the user to easily practice it. A simple button press could bring up the next move on the list, and another simple button press could reset the player to his original starting point (especially useful for when going up against a defender).
Making feints both easier to pull off and easier to practice would allow users to integrate feints into the game more easily.
