Suitability of Signatures

Were there to be the slightest sign of a nipple in a signature then the person responsible would be asked to remove it, or it would be removed by an admin. A scene from The Shining involving a bloody scene, seems just as inappropriate and for an Admin to have this scene as part of their signature seems ridiculous.

What is the rule on violence in avatars/sigs? I seem to remember Jonno having the scene from American History X where Norton stamps on the black guys head as a sig. Was he told to remove it?

I don't 'care' I'm intrigued. How can sexually explicit content be worse the explicitly violent content? The scene is graphic and taken from a 18 certificate film, the decision of whether the twelve year old children that visit a site such as this should see such scenes should be that of their parents. It would be slightly less ridiculous were this the signature of a 'shock artist' such a Jonno, however for an Admin to be posting this is rather farcical.

I agree with Original on this.

There is absolutey no need to have that as a signature, it's not entertaining or cool, and we do get the odd youngster on here who'd get freaked out by it.

If he keeps the sig, thats fair enough but I'll be putting a picture of a naked woman in mine. In a very erotic pose. Least that way the youngsters can cream their pants instead of wetting them.

If you allow violence in sigs not many people will take advantage of it. If you allow nudity in sigs the site will suddenly be overrun with boobies. I don't think anyone would have a serious objection to a nipple or two but in order to prevent this place from descending into the depths of depravity the rule is necessary.

I'll take it my signature off but will be replacing it with a Rob Schneider one when I find a suitable scene.
