Superstar = Most balanced gameplay

That's true, have been trying it out for several days and Superstar is definitely the most balanced dificulty level.

It's difficult, but there seems to be a lot less cheating scripts... in that regard, top player is completely insane as you'll get cheated a lot.

Like I mentioned, Superstar is a lot more difficult, but in the good way... opposing teams are much better at exploiting holes and free space in your defense, and their defending is positionally excelent... of course it all depends on the players stats, so it seems balanced.

Take my advice, spend the 100 points and try it for yourself.

i tried it and every team has barca indivduality, even for wigan so it is not balanced and professional is.
professional every team has their own indivduality and their are less cheatign scripts

Completely disaggree!

Played several different teams and it all depends on the slidders... teams do play different styles in Superstar.

how- you just said it's harder than top player and on top player teams like wigan play dominant footie and you hardly have space to dribble, pass or shoot like they have the best defence in the world

Been playing superstar for the past few days and enjoying it, the AI can behave unrealistically in terms of jesus passes but I can live with that, if you position your team correctly and force the AI to be creative this can help with them cutting through you at ease.

Love the challenge ML offline is more absorbing than ever, on superstar the AI is very good at finding holes in your tactics which gives you something else to think about.

I do think the AI should be more considered in its approach at times, overall really happy with superstar more balanced than top player yet slightly tougher.

Thats what I did, better to get accustomed to the game before moving to SS. Professional is very well balanced in my opinion and you get more time on the ball.

i was playing on 0 speed and it was impossible to stop anyone dribbling in my ML, i had the generic players and some exported teams and they were superhuman. i was playing a copa with -2 speed and really enjoyed it so might restart my ML with that speed and see if it gives me more a chance. also changed my settings to hard for assisted tackling as its suppoed to be helpful in the defensive game

I love the new level of difficulty. People are never satisfied. Last year they will cry because CPU was to easy to beat, now that they even sum up the 6 stars difficulty level are crying because of been so hard. For those who knows spanish this phrase will be very familiar (no hay verga que les calze)

Dude you just have to practice a little bit. Defending is hard, slowing down the game will not make you better. I play online against barca and real all the time with mid-low table teams and yes is hard as shit but is totally rewarding beating them.

online i have no issues with tackling the ronaldo's and messi's..the COM is a different story, when I think I should have tackled the player just carries on. Regarding speed im looking for a realistic sim speed and -1 or -2 offline seems pretty damn good. I agree though practice makes perfect

also if you are looking for an OF for Ecuador, go to robbyearon.com the Ecuador first division has been released, looks good, they always do great work. I had the Argentine leagues for 2011

-2 is the only way to play for me, the game speeds up slightly anyway due to the AI on the higher difficulties. This speed represents the speed of most real life matches the best I think, plus it allows you to dictate the pace of the match, you can play fast dynamic football or slow it down the variation with this setting is great.

Okay dudes and dudettes, this is where I am. But I need some advice.

Been playing half a season with Top Player no assists, but am finding that although I am winning the majority of the games now I can't get the CPU to play some football.

I agree with a few people here, people need to try Superstar. It's hard to explain but I'll try-

Top Player plays lovely, absolutely fine, until you play against teams who have a good few players with all these tricky shit cards. Then the game goes a bit shit. The game suddenly speeds up as everyone looks to take you on and it resembles something farcical with the AI cheat scripts kicking in left, right and centre.

I think I agree with people here when I say that though Superstar may be technically harder, the game is much much more enjoyable. The goals the CPU score are goals that you could say, yeah I saw that coming and are mostly goals from good football. Also the CPU passes it about more and backwards and isn't so eager to go into cheat mode. I have to test this further but people may be onto something. The only thing is though is that to get anything out of Superstar mode I think you simply have to have some level of assistance on, otherwise the defensive units are just too good and too impenetrable.

I've played the settings on no assist and now because I'm playing on Superstar I'm playing on the default assist (3 bar I think). But last game I had 65% possession, too high in my book.

Is anybody playing the game with 1 bar assist, or two bar assist and what are the differences? May be my imagination but I thought one or two people on the other forums said that playing it with one or two bar assist slightly breaks the passing game a bit, true or false guys? Thanks

i think people are finding superstar very hard is because of the crappy default team and their default tactics. Try playing all-out defence as you have a strong backilne and you don't give away too much goals. try 4-2-3-1 and stretch out your smf's and give a high player support and position switch as when you see barca play everyone has support in the most difficult of occasions

Yeah superstar is definitely a joy to play with. I noticed that compared to othe difficulties, they keep the ball alot more if your containing properly. There are much fewer gung ho messi moments, and the ai likes to push the ball down the wing and cross. I'm fine with the crossing, hardly have much goals conceded via crosses, especially when the computer does build up play. If you hold r2 and push against the attacker during ball flight, you can modify your position, and they hardly get a good header. I only concede from headers through counter attack via crossing heading. I love how the computer defence is so good. It feels so satisfying just to break it and get a goal in. For me -1 speed provides the most variety in the change of pace in play. Superstar is a must play at -1 speed. To make things better try using klshman tactics. It does wonders
