Fair enough, but I do feel that the defending is completely random and scripted. For example, if a guy runs straight into me and I tackle him, no problems. If the same exact play happens and he's holding 'special controls', it's a foul regardless of what happens.
I actually give up less than 1 goal a game (.97) in all of my online matches, so I have figured it out more or less.
My problem is the inconsistency in tackling. A lot of times my guy will go in for a tackle because the opponent hit 'special controls'. I didn't do anything.
I also think that the defending is broken and I'll give an example: You can make a standing tackle holding L2 (special controls), R2 (sprint), X (tackle), [] (square; SLIDING TACKLE), OR NOTHING AT ALL!
Sometimes my guy will slide when i'm holding the tackle button. And sometimes he'll make a standing tackle when i'm trying to slide. That's not freedom, that's the opposite of it. There are just too many silly automatic animations that this forces on the user to allow game continuity.
I find it very difficult to see how anybody can't see this games defending is 60-75% automated.
I guess the best way to put it would be: 90% video, 10% game...
On a different note, LYC10: that was probably the best game i've had online yet. Well played (even though you were fortunate :crymore
