Tactics and attributes to accentuate chance of player runs

So I have run a few experiments with tactics by changing parameters, but I cannot come to a satisfactory setting for getting my players to move in clever forward positions and make runs. The last game I played with Italy I was constantly knocking the ball to Pirlo and was looking to thread that killer through ball, but none of my players seemed remotely interested in making a run. The only way to trigger a run is by manually selecting with R3, but that's often too arduous especially when the ball carrier is under pressure.

I see the CPU constantly making clever runs with wingers, centre forwards and even midfield players. How do I achieve the same level of movement?
I am even considering changing the attributes to all my players so they are more prone to making runs. Which attributes would increase this chance?

What are people using for tactics to get more player runs from their AI teammates?

I was wondering the same thing last night! I was getting a little frustrated as I could see the CPU's players making all kinds of great runs but when I tried it I get tackled.

I'm constantly checking Klash's thread for new tactics but to be honest I'm still not seeing any runs created by Barca or Arsenal using his tactics.

I think his tactics for barca was more of poss not for the team to make runs. I play my own poss tactic, abit like his but I use wings more. What I do is that I create my own runs by using L1 or R3

I guess practice makes perfect. I cannot tell you how pleased I am with this game. The more I play the more I like I just need to get used to triggering my runs better.

There are two things you can do, 1) change game speed to +1 which I prefer on wide camera, makes for a much more fluid game 2) change the assistance in team management to offensive.

I've tried the assistance but didn't try altering the speed. I'll give it a go but I've been enjoying the pace if the game at default.

I see you have just posted in another thread asking what settings others are using. It will be interesting to see, I preferred -1 last year but default this year.

I play on default speed,and is ok.
But what is driving me craezy at the moment is passing assisted. This year i decided to change passing setting to improve my game. I set up 2 bars, and after couple of games is ok,but because all my mates play on default, i am starting to daubt is this correct way.

Guys,please give me some confidance that this will give me advantage..

And the last thing. Do you think that analog is much more improving then d-pad?

Got to get get used to the manual 2nd player move, definitely tricky to change to a further player but it's a great tool for fake runs to give your ball carrier space to run into. Or a chance for a ball into a new space the manual player has run into.

I learnt that from last year with the dummy runs but I would like to make them run diagonally away from my player occasionally. I'm waiting for GTM OF before I even venture into ML.

If you have you 2nd player on manual you can have that player make a diagonal run
