Using CB overlap is useful for possession. You have an extra man to pass to when building up around the oppositions 18 yards box. If you play 3-5-2 then you can spare a man from the back three anyway - it is just a waste having 3 of them stuck there. If you use it be sure to pick the CB with higher stamina since he must get up and down the field more.

No-one I ever play against uses 'em.
Just tend to set the tactics on the "formation" menu & change it if it's not working.
Don't think many people would lose sleep if Konami ditched it, to be honest.
I for one, would rather have say, a visible ref/better commentary etc etc

i dont actually use the tactic buttons but i play counter attack styley!

my mates always say its like i play a formation of 5-5-5. say i use Ferdinand to tackle some one, i run up the pitch and when he gets tackled and they hoof the ball back into my box he's there too! same with strikers. i use one to head a corner away, it goes up the pitch and he's there too :) lol

I'm glad someone has explained that, it was the one strategy I couldn't fugure out. Is effectively the same as the CBT playing 'Libero'?
