Taking a thru ball, full speed in stride without..

losing any speed? How is this done properly?

Sometimes when in tight situations and I thread a thru ball to my striker he 'slows' down to collect it. Kind of like breaks his stride pattern just enough for the thru ball not to be as deadly as it would have been if he took it at full pace.

I've heared various ways to stop this from happening such as:

-Super cancelling

-hitting r2 as the ball hit's your player's foot

- or 'it's just automatic'

But is there any other way to have a perfect 1st touch, in stride when your player is running at full speed?

Would appreciate advice on this one as it's something I've never had a definitive answer to.

Cheers.

i think super cancelling is the best way to recieve thru balls...
i don't think r2 does anything when u press it as the ball touches the player's foot...

u have to look at the map, while the attacker is coincided with the defender as one person make the thru + L1 and it should be flawless

My favorite take on a through ball is to dummy it. Take a bit of practice to get it down, the player needs to be in such a position that the ball is coming directly towards him from behind and with a bit of pace. Let go of the thumbpad and just hold down R1 at the very moment the ball arrives. The player will let the ball pass in front of him without touching it. Just as he steps over it get back on the thumbpad and he should take possesion without breaking pace.

Heres an example of the movement. it's not the best but It'll give you some idea of how it works, very effective with a defender alongside.

Thats just automatic and a pain. Pressing the sprint buttons, e.g. R2 and a directional button, will make the player control the ball in a certain way. try controlling the ball with L1 and u will see the player control the ball closer to him. The downside to this is that he will lose speed but will have more chance to keep the ball. R2 will make him knock the ball further out in front of him. the good thing is that it will help you knock the ball in front of u and sprint on to it. The bad thing is that it will be easier to take the ball off u if u don't use it at the right time.

Super cancel is the best but also the hardest way to take the ball on the sprint. Keep practising until you feel comfortable with it.

Hope this helps :)
