Aye. It's all about positioning, mate. If you keep an eye on your movement and stay in space you will find that your team mates shall play you the ball before you even need to call for it. There are exceptions, of course, such as specific players who attempt to dribble more than pass, even if you're in acres of space and the ball is on, as well as your team mates becoming less inclined to pass you the ball if you've squandered possession once too often.

Also, don't expect every player in the game to have the eye for 60 yard balls, nevermind the passing ability to actually pull off such a ball. Find space, yes, but whenever possible stay in reasonable proximity to the player in possession, especially if you are the best option available, otherwise they'll turn to look for a less difficult out ball and increase the risk of being caught in possession.

Think about the direction the player in possession is facing, if he has the ball out of his feet, and be sure that you're actually the best option on before calling for the ball, because although the aim of the game is to get on the ball and make things happen, there is little point in just calling for the ball at every available moment, because sometimes it causes the player in possession to have to turn on the ball only to get caught in possession when there was a better option to his right, etc, or get caught in two minds with what to do next while the ball is under his feet. It can sometimes work to your advantage to let your team mates pop the ball around a bit, while you keep your eyes peeled for that split second when your marker gets drawn to the ball, or that moment where your team mates actually find the man in space who can then in turn play you in, or go through himself if you're occupying the covering defender.

what really gets on my nerves is that they pass to me but they never take risks, for example, all he needs to do is a awkward pass but he never does, its like they are lacking confidence.
