Great faces again! I'm only a bit suprised that Martin Peters didn't make the squad, IMO one of the finest midfielders ever produced, not even mentioning his goal in the WC final (unfortunately most people forget this because Hurst scored three goals in this match) ;)

It is difficult to leave out Martin Peters but then again it was more difficult to leave out Roger Hunt.

I could have made three England squads and still be upset at which players to leave out.

I created 35 players for this squad but had to get it down to 23... Raich Carter, Colin Bell, Ray Wilson, Tommy Lawton, Tommy Taylor, Steve Bloomer and George Camsell as well as Peters and Hunt were all in the mix for the final two or three spots. :crymore:

Anyway, I made a promise to myself not to change any squads once they are posted... otherwise I will never get the file finished lol.

Okay, you got a point there (although I'd still choose Camsell instead of Milburn :D ) ;)
Btw, do you have an idea for Pre 80's Germany yet? If not, I'd have some ideas for them ;)

Milburn was the very last addition mate.. and he got in because he can play in any of the forward positions :)

As for Germany Pre '80... here is my squad as it is right now. I have 4 other players waiting in the wings with their fingers crossed that you select them :)

As much as I like Kuzorra but his time in NT was quite short while Szymaniak is IMO the greatest DM we ever had ;) For Kaltz I'd rather put him in pre 80's squad, he was even better then. Haller vs. Lehner is also a specific case, I like both very much, very difficult to choose IMO :(

Thanks for these buddy, Tilkowski, Schwarzenbeck and Szymaniak are very excited right now :laugh:

But first I have to say that you have hit the same problem that I have had all along.

I decided early on that I couldn't select each player based just on his performances or number of appearances in his nation team.

England for example, Le Tissier and Hoddle based on their performances and appearances with the National team would never get selected but there is NO WAY on earth I could select the very best of England from 1980 and not include those two.

So before I amend my Germany squad, please answer this best you can... if you had ALL German players pre '80 at your disposal, all at their prime, as if you are taking the squad to the World Cup finals...would you select Kuzorra? :unsure:

Also, are you saying I should select Kaltz for the Post 1980 squad instead? :unsure:

I'm not being rude mate, but you need to be patient. I am doing this on my own.

Once the first 16 Squads are complete and they are uploaded for everyone... I will then begin to finish teams like Poland. But I am not promising that they are the 17th squad on the list, they are in the first 24 planned and that is all I can promise you for now. :)
