Greetings Pesheads,

I think you will all agree that my good friend Ratmundo has done a wonderful job with his file, I for one have spent hours and hours playing and can’t get enough, as a lifelong Pes fan I’ve never had so much fun playing, even my 7 year old daughter is starting to play.

With the completion of Senegal all this years World Cup participants have now been created so I thought it would be good fun to playout the tournament. I will play as each of the home teams from each group until the knockout stages where I will probably toss a coin. Each day I will post videos of the matches for you all to have a look at. Hope you enjoy and get the urge to do your own tournament.

Regards
Donatoson

So here we go…..

Today we have Group A

What a performance from Salah! 3 goals, 1 assist and a yellow card for good measure.

Donatoson what settings are you using for condition/momentum etc, same as we used before? Can't wait for the rest of the series, something to look forward to in the run up to the real tourney :D

My Review

greg aka ratmundo i cannot thank you enough for allowing me the privilege of using your classic option file it’s every thing i expected and much much more, to think you worked solely on producing this masterpiece of a football gaming experience is unbelievable. everything down to the presentation of the kits to the player faces is close to perfection.
how you managed to change the game mechanics from a game i had previously perfected on superstar difficulty and turned it into one of the most difficult (in a great way) football games iv ever played is a testament to yourself. it’s been a joy trying to remaster the skills i previously had, it took me a while to get to grips with each game basically 11v11 top class players with little or no weak areas to exploit and like real football should be this makes you work very very hard for your goals and all the more satisfied when the ball hits the net. those little moments of magic that would happen every so often are more frequent in every single game with flashes of brilliance across all areas of the pitch, be it saves, tackles, dribbling or shooting this really has it all and very well balanced.
i love how physical and aggressive the defending is bearing in mind most of these legends are from an era when good hard tackling was allowed, even now the collisions and outcomes are somehow more realistic then the original game.
the shooting more crisp and the ball trajectory looks a whole lot better with the added power behind shots. keepers are possibly the best representation iv ever seen in a video game also aggressive for corners and hold shots they should instead of parrying away from goal. iv found my self going into replay a lot of amazing keepers saves just to see how they kept them out. some fantastic stuff.
i might be mad but because it’s all classic teams the dialogue of the commentators actually suits the game perfectly for some reason and unintentionally adds to every spectacle.
i have even found myself falling in love with players iv never really heard much of but after controlling them i spent most of my day in work reading up on some of these new found old legends and wanting to know more about them.
i could honestly go on and on about how great my experiences have been so far with this edited version, i’d like to think the pes production team at konami has played this and took some notes on how to produce gameplay of this high quality.

i will finish by saying for all the time and effort you have put into this ratmundo your are an absolute pes legend for what you have produced here. hats off to you my friend

We have an endless game, when it will be too much easy win against cpu we can set manual passing :D

If you play the file using the tactics that I have created for each team, and use the settings that Donatoson advises everyone to use, I assure you that it will be a very long time before you find it too easy ;)

Thank you so much for taking the time to post your review matey, it seems that you are enjoying everything that I hoped people would enjoy about the file.

The fact that you are enjoying the challenge the file is giving you is everything I hoped for, seriously ginger, if in the future I'm having a 'dark day' and thinking 'is it worth it' I will re-read this review my friend, and very quickly become inspired to carry on :)

Thank you for all your kind words :)

Thanks buddy, when I read Gingers review it reminded me of your good self when you first gave me feedback... I think we have found a true PES brother

Yes I noticed that :) Now I play using my default tactics I used when I played online: no advanced tactics (gegenpressing, falso nueve, etc), 4-3-3 for more or less every team, same numbers for the other tactics and it's surely less difficult than playing with your tactics but I have a lot of other settings to test, now I use emotion players yes and yellow arrows for every player, it seems more difficult but I have to test it on other matches, past evening Kopa kicked my ass, I was Maroc :D
I really enjoy this file.

The next update will have 64 nations Tom, I've corrected a few errors in the previous teams...nothing major but mostly spelling errors or wrong boots allocated etc, minor stuff but things that keep me awake at night :D

I am planning on sending out the 64 team updated file this weekend. I am currently working on a World Cup spreadsheet to keep scores and scorers on. Unfortunately this has taken me days to get right and even today I found another error :realmad::realmad:

The spreadsheet will be the teams going to Russia in the summer but obviously has the players in my file instead of todays squads. So you can fill it in with your scores and the goalscorers, it then has a mini table that updates the scorers table automatically.

I also did a draw for those 32 in my file that didn't make this years World Cup. Kind of the 'Wooden Spoon' tournament. So that'll be 2 x tournaments for everyone to complete. Then if everyone finishes both of the tournaments I've created the spreadsheets for, they'll have had a go with all 64 squads that I've made so far.

So the short answer is, if I get the WC spreadsheet working with no errors by tonight, the next update will be sent out tomorrow or Sunday at the latest.

Future releases and updates I'll announce soon :)
