The Freekicks Suck

In pro evo 6 the free kicks werent bad but now in the 2008 addition they are absolutely rediculous, its not the fact that its hard to get the right power and use the right thing to get the ball on target, but its completely random luck!!! even with nakamora and the best free kick takers in the game the variation on free kicks is huge!!! if you have it exactly full power holding forward and pressing A/X for dip one time it might go in, do the exact same the next time it might fly miles over the bar, next into the wall then next it will float miles wide, if your going to make the free kicks hard to get the right power and on target with direction atleast make there bare minimum of variation, its complete fluke to score a free kick.

ya have 2 be good at freekicks if ya want 2 score often just practise in training mode . . .

I can't tell the difference, i still score them all the time, especially the ones right on the edge of box, the trick is to name somebody who is left footed at the start of the match as your short free kick taker, then when you get a free kick on the edge of the box, change it to somebody who is right footed and has good shot power and accuracy, and a gap appears between the wall and the keeper, just aim there and blast it in.

Your only supposed to fill the power bar half way

i meant full power as in it was exactly the same full ammount as the first one, which is half way, and besides 99% of the time when you do it half way it hits the wall if not it goes over or wide.

Yeah i often find if you have to hit it over the wall, its better to get the power bar just over the half way mark and try to put some curl on it

what do yous do for your free kicks then? my technequie is half power holding foward and pressing A/X for dip but it always hits the wall or misses so anoying ive only score once with this and that was a bit of a fluke that hit the cross bar in the right hand corner from miles out.

i go over the wall not around, i dont do any swerve just aim it at top corner, half power or just over and hold forward and X does any one know if X accually makes it dip or does it just make it slightly weaker? its rediculous is there is no dip button at all, fifa has its way of making the ball dip with topspin but still hitting it hard, in real like no one makes it dip by hitting it weaker, they put top spin on it...

i use manchester united and ronaldo because he has good power and accuracy. giggs always hits the wall.

I've never found pressing x to actually do anything. I wasn't suggesting bending it round the wall, it still goes over the wall but bending it somehow helps it come down quicker, dont know how but hey this is Konami were talking about.

lol i only noticed a minute ago how crap ronaldo's stats were, hes like manchester unites number one penalty taker in real life but hes aweful in the game lol, as for free kicks its unbelieveable how bad theve put him as, trust the japanese to mess up all the players lol.

I'm not sure if i'm right but i'm pretty sure Tevez is better than Ronaldo at free kicks on PES 2008, Tevez is decent but not as good as Ronnie in real life

lol tevez is aweful in pro evo, i always play saha, for some reason hes sick as a Cf and has propa good finishing and postioning. as for free kicks, ive practised them tons in the training menu but it just doesnt seem to work. what button combinations do yous use for free kicks? like do you hold forward or press any buttons.

x and down on the analog=very weak shot
down on the anolog=weak shot
x on its own=sloping shot
standard shot=Standard
Triangle=straight shot
up on the analog=strong shot
triangle and up on the analog=very strong shot
down and triangle=special shot 1
up and pass button=special shot 2
