The New Master League

So i've just picked up PES 2010 (i know, i know but i've been abroad) and I noticed the changes on the master league. One of the things I loved about the old versions was taking a group of 20 or so really crappy players and turning a few of them into stars and earning enough money to buy better players.

I presume that's gone now, right? I see they appear to be in a youth team. If that's the case, what team can you start with that gives the same affect? Do you have to have the real players from the start? Just takes away a bit of the fun of it.

When you're selecting team which you want to use, there is an option to select "Master League default players". It's "triangle" , but I can be wrong about which button it is.

Well, it's not entirely gone. You can choose the Default Players option when you are creating a new game in the Master League, like Ozz said. Though, they are really that crappy, and barely any of them becomes a star and no one will ever join your team, which is a shame.

that is the only way to play ML.. To be honest I've got way too good players as a replacements from free transfers. (Replaced half of the originals with free, much better players). I've played 1 and half seasons now after patched newest DLC. Promoted to League 1 after first season, now sixth. It's all about finding the good formation to play with.

It's true and a bit sad that your teams ranking though rises only slowly and simply by playing MANY seasons meaning that it takes a while before you can sign big names from other teams.

And to add up, each player definitely don't need to be good in everything to do a decent job.
