swerve, good point. Fix mode is there but I haven't tried it yet. Will do.

For corners, try holding R2 for more height and R1 for more speed.

I doubt he changed the names from Japanese to English in WE7 :p
Guys, had a questions about the player pool in master league?
Seems there are more players available from most countries other than
those on the national teams and club teams. How can they be changed in the edit mode. I cannot find them.
For instance. The US national team lists only two players. But if you search
in master league there are more in the pool.
Where can you edit there names.
Please help.

btw, there are tons of PK in WE7:IJ. The refs call it too often. even it favours me. plus the COM flops alot.
the thing i like is that there are alot of pushing and shoving away from the ball. haha.
it's definitely harder to score i think. so far the biggest win for me on 5* is 3-0. biggest loss is 0-2. most of my matches are 1-goal decision. i think the keepers are much stronger too. many of my 1-on-1 shots are stopped.

at last put my hands on the WE7:I, as I had to wait till a friend sent it to me from Japan. WOWOWOWOWOWOWOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
When I first started reading this thread I thought everybody was full of shit and that it's the same thing, but it is tweaked so nicely....most of the annoying thigns gone, and the fact that dribbling is harder is so bad for my mates, that kinda relied on it in PES3...
Played a Konami cup (4 mates, with a multi-tap)...I won, naturally :D
and it absolutely rocked. best goal was a bicycle kick with Bergkamp (I played Arsenal as I had to give up Juve to a friend that joined us, it was a bit of a childish argument but who cares).

Konami rules.

Option File

X-Port does work on it and there are already option files available for WE7:IJ.
The clubs are the same as in WE7 and PES3. There are a few new players but the option file will correct everything for you.

WHERE CAN I DOWNLOAD AN OPTION FILE FOR WE7 i ?
I CAN'T GO THROUGH ALL THOSE MASTER LEAGUE GAMES AGAIN!
BRILLIANT GAME 'IT JUST GETS BETTER AND BETTER...........'
GLAD THEY GOT RID OF ALL THOSE 'HAND BALLS'

I don't want to rain on the collective parade but after playing WE7:I I found it to be almost exactly the same game as PES3. I am very happy that a friend gave me a copy because if I'd have bought it I would have been livid! Before you all start attacking me let me just say that I only managed to play 3 matches so I haven't really given it a chance but as far as I can see it is a step in the right direction, but there is a long way to go to start calling it a 'much better game'.

The graphics and most of the animations are exactly the same (a few improved faces etc) and I feel that the corners and crosses are worse than in PES3 (less power more, difficult to aim). The only thing that really stood out for me was the way the keeper can be brought forward. It happens at a much better pace now and it feels like he doesn't just mindlessly run out towards the ball, rather he tries to reduce the strikers options and convers the goal in a much more realistic way.

I'll check in again tomorrow with more opinions!

PS A big, big thank you to my mate mentioned earlier in this post!

Try the Japanese version, the players' name is in Japanese. It does not play like PES3 unlike the US Version (players' name is in English). Initially, I admit I don't kind of like the game because it is too fast and the passing is just too accurate. But having played the game the whole of last week, I am beginning to like it. There are times when the excitement is even better than WE7. But then because of the increased speed, players sometimes moonwalk. That is my only grouse and that is why I still vote WE7 as the best soccer game to date.

I am playing the Jap version! That's the game I'm talking about. I will probably get to like it a bit more after playing it some more but these were my first impressions. Now you've mentioned the passing I feel that the more 'accurate' and faster passing makes the game feel very 'arcade' and I've always liked WE/PES because it's always been the exact opposite, more like a simulation.

Like I have said earlier, I did not quite like the game initially. The passing is just too perfect for my liking. On my first game, I was able to string a good number of passes never seen before. In fact, I even scored from a direct pass from the flank, a rare commodity if my records were anything to go by. I was not excited at all over that wonderful volley. It certainly has nothing to do with my skill unless I have improved without knowing it. The passes looked so computer aided. Another thing I found is that I could not dribble as before. The defenders were just too quick. However after playing the game through my annual leave, I 've discovered that the game is not too bad after all. Even though the defenders are much faster, I could beat them on a turn if you know how. In fact,it has never been more satisfying when it comes to beating a tough defender. As for the passing, I am beginning to notice that sometimes the ball does get intercepted so there is no certainty that each pass is perfect. However I would have prefer that the strength of the pass should be based on the pressure we apply on x button and the direction of the ball should be based on the directional button being applied and how our player is positioned. In real life, it is not easy to string so many beautiful passes.

Agree on that completely mate, it would be almost perfect if the passes were a little bit slower, and if we could decide the strenght of it.
Mumpleaser, if you really don´t see any difference between PES3 and WE7:I Jap you must be drunk :p Didn´t know that Swedish beer is so good :D
Play some more matches, give it 2 or 3 more days, and you´ll see the difference. Focus chiefly on the harder dribblings (an improvement IMO), the better crosses and headers, more powerful shots, better response time of the players before shots (not so many blocked shots by the defenders), the improved refs and the nice advantage rule :)

I`m used to the new "faster" passing system.. if you slightly touch X button then the pass will be slow, or it`s just in my head.. but anyways.. WE7I-J r000xxzz !!

BTW.. why is the board sooooo damn sloooowww. :)

I'm gonna play at weekend and I'm sure I'll learn to love it. I always thought the shooting in PES3 was a lot harder than in WE7 but I maybe wrong. I can imagine that if you play WE7 then the difference is greater than if you've been playing PES3 (shot wise I mean).

I'll post again on monday with my humble opinions! :D

I love it.........and hate it!

re 2 player.
I lose more than ever , I can no longer dribble past people effectively and France and Brazil are too strong for my England now I've lost Ferdinand.
I'm 60 pints down in bets and need to radically alter my game for the 1st time since my favourite game we6fe when I was king.

Funniest thing I've seen (apart from Ice skater bug) is when you foul someone and the ref goes over to the injured player looks down at him, nods his head (and no doubt tutts) then signals to the sideline by impersonating a stretcher carrier (jigging both hands up and down)...especially funny since it was I who fouled Zidane and cost my friend the game.

Mm difficult to answer. WE7I is by far the best WE I have played, although PES3 is also quality. But if you have read this thread you see most people are very happy with WE7I so.....Also if you patch your game you should buy WE7I, cause there wont be more patches for PES3. If you have enough money I should also buy We7I, cause its no doubt better then PES3....
So conclusion; I would buy WE7I, also because you have to wait another 5/6 months for WE8.
