The perfect Lob

AAAAAAHHHHH, I am so shite at lobs, I barely hit the target with them, let alone trouble the keeper. Can anyone give me some tips on how to net chips/lobs. i think they are the best lookoing way to score, yet I cant bloody do it!!!!!!!!

To do the best lob when your approaching the keeper slow down then press shoot until the power bar is half full then press R1 quickly this shud lob the keeper every time but if u r closer to the keeper double press [] . I hope this is helpful mate !!!!!!!

It's easier to just hold in L1 and tap the shoot button for a small lob. Hold the shoot button longer for a more powerful lob. Scored a peach of one last night against my mate, he'd been slagging Sheringham off the entire game due to his extreme slowness but the big fella made it 3-0 with the sweetest of finishes in injury time. Top stuff.

I actually went to the training ground for the first time last night, have now got the hang of lobs, much harder to do in a game though, obviously!!!

Tried about 30 free kicks, scored my first ever and then a couple more, still havent got a clue how to do it though!!!!!!

Yeah, I use to make that mistake a lot. I use to run forward in towards the goal, then I'd press L1 and the shoot button but the lobs tended to curl and go wide and that was because I still had the direction button held. It was really annoying at first but I let go of the direction button straight away now, and I find lobbing the ball pretty easy to do.

I never aim using the manual lobs as it usually just goes wide

If i'm in the box i find it better to use the auto-lobs (double-tap :[] ), they're great for cheeky chips over the keepers head and aren't going to fly over the bar

i love scoring off chips.. it so satisfying especially against mates...

I found the most effective lob for me is to press Down-Up on the analouge when the keeper rushes out. Hard to get in the right place to pull it off but very effective.

OK cool, the letting go of joypad thing sounds a good idea. I scored against my mate the other day, ran to edge of area, scooped the ball up in front of me and then did a cheeky header over his keeper. my mate went crazy!!!!!!

yeah just practice doing lobs in training.
i find the best way to do this is when you approach the
keeper hit shoot gently and quickly press r1.
the trick is to be close to the keeper. also sometimes the
keeper commits himself to diving as you sprint toward him,
which can make timing easier sometimes.
another good move is to feint to shoot as the keeper rushes
out by pressing the shoot button then pressing the x.
you need to be running straight at him to pull this one off.

Dingo, I have got the feint pretty much wired, though half the time I turn the wrong way and feint straight into the keeper! I seem to have most success uses George Best for that move, quality.

I did something: When you come to 18 tab "run" key to stop. Then press Q1 and []. It makes the ball go higher but I didn't scored from this trick.
