Basically it's where the player plays on the pitch. Example a SMF with LS/LF only plays on the left. Players with L&R will play on either side.

None really, it just tells the game player exactly where the player plays. You can still play every player out of position.

Well it does have a point. And you should really follow it if you want to get the best out of your team. So it isn't totally pointless.

What i'm saying is, that a player won't play as well if he is RS/RF and you stick him on the left side as he would if he was on the right side. It's that simple.

So can you not convert a defender on this game into a forward say Nesta?? Did you know Kevin Phillips started as a right back and then won the Golden Boot joint 30goals in the league with some frenchman for Juve!!

Only if you edit them. Alot of players play more than one position though so that helps.

I didn't know that about Phillips, he's like our best striker at the moment for Villa. Good player.
