Does anyone know how to defend against Henry?

My little brother always terrorises my defence with him no matter what team I am. My defenders are falling all over the place trying to stop him and when he goes past its all over. Seems to score everytime he shoots.

Gonna give up soon. too humilating!!

This happens with me when my mate uses Ronaldhinio - the ugly git.

Try not to storm in holding X - instead, shadow the forward using only the D Pad, staying goal-side the whole time. They will weave right and left, but you must stay goal-side. When they make a break for it, tap X to stick a foot in, or a shoulder.

If the ball becomes loose, hold [] to close the ball down with another player, or ^ to smother it with the keeper.

Lastly, you can just slide in and break the f**kers legs, and take a card for it.

Sorted.

Cheers TDub.

Gonna try what you said.

Breaking his legs looks really appealing.

(Talking about Henry, not my little brother although that sounds appealing too after gettin beat 5-0 by Arsenal)

Try Man-to-man Marking him? Normal or Aggressive. It might cut down the number of times he gets on the ball, and put him under pressure quicker when he does.

Risky with Line Defence, but in a sweeper system you'll have a player covering behind the defenders marking up the opposition attackers.

i usually stick to the breaking legs technique... so does my dad, hence us having 5 red cards between us in a match last night.

YES ! The best way to defend against Thierry Henry is to get it into your team :) He is by far the best forward there is. He is one of the first player I wanted into my team. I got him and it paid off !

Outstanding player, both in the game and real life, I think the idea of having a quick agile defender man mark him may help a little but really the best way has got to be have him in your team !!!!!

This reminds me of a story by someone at issextreme. Their friend always used Shevchenko a lot. One time the guy changed Shev's shooting accuracy stat to something very low like about 15 and had a fun time as his friend couldn't score with him. :D

Cheating.... hmmmm...... ;)

I find tha shev is tha hardest too... alongside with ronaldo!!
Henry feels kinda slow in pes3 but that is becasue his dribbling is soo guud!! Does anybody find when ya mates come round it can get really annoyin when they just use tha 1 supreme player to run pass every1... sumtimes i feel like breakin both there legs

Ronaldo is no problem. He is easy to injure without getting more than a yellow card.

Two-footed players are always hard facing because they can go either way. Henry and Shevchenko have to rely much on luck if they go left.

as in real life :)

i am blessed with two-footedness. its great :D btw, how do 1 footed players do double stepovers? wouldnt they find it hard to do with their left if they were right footed? and vice versa...

im sure they can move their left legs ash :p

cant quite take free kicks with my left as good as henry can but all the rest i can do, dead ball's damned hard

well, im left footed really, but my right is perfect for most things, except volleying. i would say dead balls are easiest to do with your 'wrong' foot. i feel totally two footed with free kicks.
