Whats up, I am new here but the reason I registered to this forum was to talk about a few things that irk me about this game.

First and foremost, they SHOULD not have not gone with the Fox engine for a football game.
Reason in-case there are a lot of things to fix.
For example, the noticeable input lag when controlling your players, the lack of urgency for your players when going for the ball and the AI. I feel like I need to depend heavily on tactics unlike previous PES in which they had at least a decent idea of how to run for the ball.

Even in counter-attack, the players DON'T try to attack.

I don't think you can really open with "first and foremost" and only have one point. I agree the engine doesn't suit a sports game but they can't fix that in a patch.

What are you talking about?

It's true that there's a delay, but it's completely false to blame the engine for delay in player movements. That's not the engine's fault. The engine is not some magical thing that dictates how everything should be.

It's sort of a base to overlay your set of game codes on. So it's konami's fault for the lack of movements as well as the delay. BUT, you must also keep in mind the hardware that the game was developed for. The ps3 and 360 are too damn old now and their memory (512mb, which is surpassed even by last year's smartphones) is just not suited for the fox engine to run smooth and at full strength.

The engine is based around working with higher levels of memory and in order for it to run comfortably, it needed more memory (both random and disk memory). Pes 2014 should have been exclusive to next gen consoles. But it wouldn't have made sense from a selling stand point.

I said this before, but I'll say it again. The real power of the engine (if Konami are willing to take advantage of it) will come later down the line when the game is developed exclusively for the xbone and ps4.

Correct!

Although the Fox Engine was not made for PES they modified the engine to meet PES requirements. However, they are lazy, lazy, neglectful and dont give a shit.

From their own team ...read this!

Pro Evo uses a modified version of Fox Engine, but the studio appears to be in a period of cultural change. Will this be common as Japanese studios move into the next generation?
"I don’t want to say too much about this [and] start a fight, but as far as the team is concerned, in the beginning their approach wasn’t really suited to the tool. They’ve gotten better now. I think Japan lags behind in three respects: one, engine tools; two, user systems to take advantage of those engines, and three, management processes to use those tools effectively. We’ve given the engine to other teams in Konami, but right now these other two things are lagging behind."

Konami stumbled into the last version of "next gen" with a shocking match engine, by the time they fixed it they moved onto the "fox engine". I think it is fair to say the engine isn't capeable of running the game correctly at the moment. Great, its a modified version, the next version will be modified and then we will hopeefully be on solid ground on the ps4 of xbox 1. The potential of using a new engine like this is great but Konami havent modified it in the correct way and as has been pointed out were lazy and didn't include animations and movements.

I can guarantee there will be no such problems with the new Metal Gear Solid running on the same engine, it will be modified to suit the game but they will get it right. I don't like the blanket abuse the company gets but they aren't releasing too many titles at the moment to my knowledge and could really put more work into their yearly release.
