Things wrong with pes2011

After now spending many months player PES2011 I can now come to a verdict that PES2011 is let down by badly coded or unfinished game-play elements and weak/inept AI. I have therefore compiled a list of things wrong with PES2011 hoping that you will focus on these areas to improve the game. There are many small flaws with PES2011, but they all add up to make PES2011 a massive disappointment.

> Random stadium assignment in cup matches: Should be the home stadium of the home team except for the final which should be a neutral ground.

> When you have a choice of forward passes and the game always passes to an offside player.

> The shooting in PES2011 is terrible: Even if using minimum power from 6 yards shots always balloon over the bar. This is nearly a game breaker.

> Player selection: Very much a game breaker, better than it was in the vanilla version, but still bad. The player selected should always be the closest player to the ball, between your own goal and the ball.

> Formation configuration screen: This is too fiddly and difficult to use, the screen from PES 6 was the best one to date, should be brought back.

> Too many large stadiums: Not enough very small stadiums to be assigned to lower teams.

> Incorrect stadium assignment: Stadiums should be assigned to clubs that resemble their own stadiums in size and appearance. Less than 30 stadiums is quite poor when you consider the number in FIFA games.

> AI team-mates not intercepting passes: Ball sometimes within an inch of the player as he watches it go past him - team-mate interceptions are a must.

> AI team-mates heading crosses or corners: AI team mates that head corners or crosses, which will always go over the bar, stopping your own player from getting the shot in is very annoying. Also AI team-mates making bad tackles and getting booked/sent off is also annoying.

> Player movement (what there is of it): Players do not make forward runs between defenders, player movement in general is terrible. Full backs do not overlap on the outside as they should, players do not have off the ball intelligence of any kind in PES2011.

> Goalkeepers: Quite often they don't even bother to dive in this years game. Quite bad even by Konami's recent standards. GK's are too slow in rushing out, and too stupid.

> Fake teams in Master League: It would be better to have unlicensed lower leagues such as the English Championship than fake teams from all over Europe. This spoils any sense realism.

> Realistic finances: Player values are very inaccurate.

> Player trading: This needs to be brought back.

> Stadium announcer: It is annoying hearing the stadium announcer talk so much. There should be an option to turn if off.

> More kinds of weather should be brought in for PES2012.

> Heavily and blatantly scripted matches should be removed. I am aware that some scripting is necessary to enhance realism, but the crudeness of it in recent years is extremely frustrating.

> Delayed offside whistle - just annoying.

> Unresponsive players around the penalty box: Players become slow and unresponsive around the penalty box area. This is just annoying because it is a programming cheat to sabotage the player, and its obvious.

> No advantage rule

> Bad referees: Referees are as bad as PES4 - a real step backwards.

> Tackles from behind: The tackle from behind is actually banned in football: The AI should not be able to just bump your player off the ball from behind. Also bad and late tackles are not punished at all most of the time.

> Player pace: Pace has been removed as a factor in this game: Players that are supposed to be fast such as Lennon and aren't. This needs to be addressed as it is totally unrealistic.

> The penalty system: Enough said really.

> No play-offs in lower-league.

> Diving

> Your own players getting in the way of passes.

> Shingo Seabass having anything to do with the game.

Hope this helps.

I agree with everything you have said; I really hate that whenever I get lightly tackled that my player always stumbles for about 5 seconds.

The through pass isn't 360 degree, most of the time when I want the through pass to go somewhere it ends up not and then getting intercepted.

AI team mates always end up running offside and stand offside during free kicks.

When I'm running up the pitch on a counter attack, my AI attackers just stand there and don't run up with you.

Sometimes I tap direct pass and it ends up smacking it in front like a through pass.

When someone crosses in the ball across the box on the floor the GK just stands there and watches it go past him instead of diving out to stop it.

Sometimes when the opponent crosses in the ball my defender runs into the ball and scores an own goal and I can't do anything about it at all.

Just a few extra things to add to the list.

Good comment.... Totally agree with you in this regard. I think the quality of the game would be highly improved if it was a bi-anually release.
The question is can we wait that long for a new Pro Evo. Me honestly, if the game was of a higher polished quality, would gladly wait.

ur wrong what sucked was pes 06 as you see game improved every year pes 2011 is based on how to do team work and great passes if u dont know how to do it thats why you dont like it pes 2010 was great so as 2011 also a note they did what they had to do all kids were trying to run with fast players in old games second corners usually fails in real life too and defenders wins the ball usually too so dont expect to get through a defender everytime and you dont know how to shoot ill show you how to play pes 2011 to you if you want psn name:ahmetm

2008, 2009 and 2010 weren't great.

2011 is.

I'm sorry but a game that calls itself a football simulation and has player movement and player selection as bad as this can't be called great.

AI team-mates in this game just don't move forwards into space.

Good movement is finding space AHEAD of the player with the ball. Not behind. Also you should be able to use your body to shield the ball, but in this game you just get bumped off the ball by the AI.

Football basics among others which this game has got totally wrong. You would think the makers of this game have never watched a game in their life.

The only thing stopping this being the worst PES ever is PES2008 and PES2010, which are equally as bad.

I got myself FIFA 11 today, see what that's like. Maybe seeing a long-time PES player taking his hard earned cash elsewhere will get Konami's head out of its ass once and for all.

There are definitely a variety of particulars like that to take into consideration. That is a great point to carry up. I provide the ideas above as basic inspiration however clearly there are questions like the one you carry up the place an important thing shall be working in sincere good faith. I don?t know if best practices have emerged round things like that, but I'm certain that your job is clearly recognized as a good game. Both boys and girls really feel the influence of only a second’s pleasure, for the remainder of their lives.

These are problems which should be fixed with a new patch, instead of waiting for 2012.

1-This becomes very annoying sometimes.

2-Player selection is very bad now. You can't select the closest player to ball even if you press 6-7 times sometimes.

4- This is funny. Also sometimes when that AI player should get yellow card, but gets nothing because it's AI not human. Changes like this to improve the game are totally wrong. And there are too much in PES now.
