Thinking of Buying PES 2013

I'm pretty new to the whole soccer thing as my sport of love is ice hockey. I've played this year and last of FIFA with my longtime friend who loves soccer. I've become pretty good at FIFA, but find everyone just creates a midget and thru balls for breakaways and the CPU falls or the simplest of moves. Also feel they block way too many shots.

I'm hoping to hear some of the positives and negatives about PES 2013 from some of you that own the game. I don't want to hear the game completely sucks blah blah stuff. I'd like feedback that has reason.

I recently got Pes 2013 and am quite impressed with it. I like the variety of goals that can be scored, the build up of play, the game speed, depth of tactics etc. I also usually find when I win (professional level lol) I get scores like 1-0, 2-1 and feel I have really earned the goals and worked for them. I also own FIFA 13 which I played on and off for a month and got very bored with it. The goals are always the same, the game speed feels very fast even on slow setting, I got scores like 7-2, 6-3, 5-0 ( world class level). FIFA feels to predictable and repetitive to me I don't understand how it outsell pes by a large margin. Hope that's some help, I'm sure pes has flaws but I'm enjoying it so far (only played 20 games so far) :)

I suggest you read at least some of the PES Rage thread before you spend your hard earned on this game mate.

I bought PES 2013, then returned it (unopened) after reading up more. I play offline Master League exclusively and was scared away by the boots/RPG aspect and the rapid growth of players in Master League. Both of these would make Master League less enjoyable for me, plus I still enjoy PES 2011 to be honest.

I think it really comes down to what mode(s) you play (there is no league mode this year) and if you don't mind its quirks. I've always loved PES game play so if you are looking for the best game play experience I don't think you can go wrong with PES :D

Why are you giving buying advice when you haven't even played it ?

Just enjoy playing it, do NOT think about playing it.

EVERY THING should be fine.

Oh, remember, rest to rest, do NOT sleep to sleep.

Merry Chrismas to YOU ALL.

I should also state that the only thing I really care about is Club Matches... like created pros playing against other created pros with no name cpus. How does that work in the game?

Chill out there buddy. I was just giving my two cents because I was in the same situation at the OP. If you are offended by me not playing the game, that's your problem. Also, why are you posting in a thread when you have no information to offer?

I don't believe there is an online equivalent in PES that compares to FIFA clubs. You can only play real teams/players on PES. FIFA Clubs drop-in matches make me sick to the stomach. (see This post link) But if you get on a club that plays together as a unit repeatedly it can be engrossing.

Care to explain a little bit more about that FIFA mode you were talking,Club matches ?

sure, Virtual Pro Clubs is a mode where you create your own player and try to progress with better attributes over time. Online, you can play 1-11 vs 1-11 human matches with a team of virtual pros that includes you and friends (or strangers). Drop-in matches, as I alluded in my above post, is when you simply join in with 1-11 strangers to play with your Virtual Pro. But you can also have a pre-determined club that always plays together and competes for Division ranking and special cup tournaments.

Its pretty cool to play with 5 or more players because of the fun with the off the ball movement, moving in to position as a winger, or playing a deep lying midfielder and the such.

I'm very chilled and offended....lolz.

I just don't get how 3rd hand worries actually helps any body and yes you were in the same situation and you still are......Until you actually experience something you shouldn't be offering buying advice.

As for my Info....

In all honesty the game feels some what outdated. How ever the core gameplay remains solid..Pre pacth 102 the A.I was a big concern but seems to be better now.

Master league off line seems just fine....The addition of boots and stuff doesn't really effect it much IMO and also allows slight customization to players which is good IMO cause the stats for some players a lol worthy.

Become a legend....Honestly. Boring but then so is Fifas.

I don't play online so I won't say anything there.

What will say though is ....I have played Fifa 13 and PES 13 and after the Initial coolness of first touch and tweaks to A.I and such....PES is the better game but Fifa has more offline modes where as PES is lacking some what.

And that is coming from a gamer who has chamioned Fifa since Fifa 10.

Alright, so you are a know it all control freak. So be it. I gave my opinion and didn't sway the OP one way or another. I gave my account since I was in the same position, case closed.

Your take on players not being affected by boots contradicts what most others say on this site. Like I said in my first post, boots and ridiculous player development over time in Master League is what is confirmed by players on this site and are important aspects of the game to me, which is why I'm sticking to PES 2011.

I basically gave a summary of what others posted on this site so the OP wouldn't have to scour many threads for the information. Now that I spelled out what others plainly see, you can get off your high horse junior ;p

Thanks for the helpful feedback. I wouldn't be a fan of playing with real players from clubs since I am sure it would be the same 5-6 teams majority of the time. I don't do the FIFA Club drop-ins because that is horrible I agree with everyone wanting to be a 1man show. I've been playing NHL series with 2 of my friends for 4yrs and we have played the last 2 years of FIFA series. So we got great chemistry and was hoping we could get a virtual pro league in PES. Maybe in the future they will think of adding that.

Fifa 13 is worse with the ball hoggers and greedy players cause of the separation between online and offline be a pros.

Fifa 12 fairly often you would get a good handful to 7 players who would try and play which made the mode well worth playing
