Thinking of selling PES...

I lost patience after almost 3 weeks op playing, and a lot of trying things, changing settings and cussing at PES..

Like some of you know, this is my first PES game. I used to play FIFA for a few years and I was planning to buy FIFA 12 too. Till I played the demo, which was shitt to me. Was convinced of buying PES after playing their second demo. Most realistic football game ever seen. Played the demo till death, and there were only 4 teams in the demo..

Got excited when I finally bought the game, and I started playing Champions League and Master League. Master League is still amazingly worked out, but now I'm sick of the gameplay.

Playing on prof btw, also tried on harder difficulties.

I know there are alot of topics about this already, but I just want to sum up my problems again:

- Shooting. I thought I had fixed this problem by setting all assistence out, and everything to manual. Well, I had to be lucky in some games with placing my shots, because now all of the shots are going straight the the goalkeeper again. I can score, and I can win. But it doesn't satisfy me.. scoring 100 times by a keeper mistake, brings me to my next point.

- Keepers are shit. Clear.

- Shots get blocked and changed direction 5/10 times!!! Ridiculous! Shot will go at keeper, as usual, but gets blocked and flies in goal.

- Manmarking doesn't work properly..wether I set it or not.
- Referees are retarded as fuck, brings me to next point.
- Cheating al, well known issue.
- Players I dont control dont know how to position.

I was enjoying the game so badly the first week, and I played it alot. But after that it got worse and worse, and this weekend I lost patience...

I'm really thinking of trading PES for FIFA, or Konami has to show up (not expecting it) with a good patch, with good fixes. and not just the stutter run (??) bug.

Couldnt care less about the grammar, whatever.

Share your opinions, or post solutions..

cheers.

i thought about selling the game aswell. i keep going back and trying the fifa 12 game but just dont like it.

as for pes12 offline. theres so many things that wind me up. its like fifa now. it trys and does things for you. the weak shots that go 1mp into the goal i cant tollerate.

then when you can see the ball going out out play and you press your player to run but he slows down even thought you want him to try keep the ball in. wtf that all about.

why cant pes be like it used to be. what happend to freedom. theres no freedom because most of it is pre dertermind for you.

i sold pes 10 and 11 after a months play because i didntl like it,

i love pes 09. theres freedom. but apart from gameplay the rest is rubbish ie the menus ect. try pes09 give it a few weeks because it slow untill you get used to it. you can pick it up on ebay for £2.

as for pes 12 i think its better then 11. im going to stick with it a bit longer.

have you tried playing online as i feel its better playin aganst real people rather then the computer

I don't blame you. The game is a broken piece of crap that doesn't reward futbol knowledge as much as pressing the "special controls" button and taking advantage of retarded gimmicks.

Pav brings up a good point. When you are sprinting for a ball towards the sideline, many times the ball speeds up unrealisticly or your player slows down for no reason.

Here's something simple: Try marking the guy at the top of the box when your opponent is taking a goal kick. Something on the field is keeping you out of the 25-30 yard mark. That in itself is an ultimate fail. Why can't I move where I AM LEGALLY ALLOWED TO ON THE FIELD!

Absolute farce...

But there's no point in starting another thread. Selling the game and not buying the game is basically the same thing here, IMO. (of course I say this AFTER I've put in my two cents ;)

I recognise all of the problems you noted, however I own both PES 2012 and Fifa 11, and I after playing PES for the first week it came out, I got a little frustrated with it in the end, partially because of the things you mentioned, but mainly because of the sprint/run bug. So anyway I thought I'd give FIFA another try as it was just sat there collecting dust since I bought PES, I played two games and hated it, just hated it so much, so so boring and such a let down as FIFA 11 was good. I went back to PES, I sorted out the bug problem using the second controller trick and now I love it, I'm addicted to it again, as I was in the PS2 years when it was truelly amazing. I can understand the reasons you don't like it though, however I think there is more positives than negatives in the game, and they're the things that keep me playing it and enjoying it.

I just can't play FIFA 12 anymore, I think it's so poor, so lifeless, unrealistic and repeatative gameplay, you score pretty much the same looking goals all the time, and the computer always score the same looking goals against you, which makes every game the same. So I wouldn't recommend you buy that, I would definitely stick with PES, but that's just my opinion on them, you might buy FIFA and really like it, but if you didn't like the demo then I doubt you will like the full game, as I actually enjoyed the FIFA demo but hated the game when it came out. I would recommend you maybe rent FIFA for a week, keep PES, then decide which one you want after playing FIFA for a week.

i bought it at the 15th and already i'm bored of it - even master league. i tried bal and club boss but they just bored the heck out of me and just made me feel guilty about wasting my time when i could have been doing other stuff. I can't even use online because of the patch i'm using.
I'm in my 2nd season with everton and i'm not even bothered to turn on my ps3 and it just feels boring.
Pes 2011 despite it's flaws was addictive somehow

@superfav I have played like 20 online matches and its fun, but the game speed is way to high so I dont like that anymore..

As for the slowing down when sprinting, I forgot to mention that. It's also bullshit and unrealistic. If Konami just would fix the small problems...it would improve the game alot.

The graphics are beast, no way FIFA will ever beat them..but I'm afraid Konami will not release anything to fix these problems in the near future.

Like I said, FIFA bored the shit outta me, and I only played the demo. I only like playing FIFA with friends. I will stick to PES a little longer.

I'm happy BF3 is out, and MW3 will be out soon..might sell PES when I get MW3..

I'm getting bored of it. Considering selling it myself. I've conceded silly goals online too much for my liking. How often do you see a DF kick the ball against his own team-mate and it ends up an own goal? Because silly goals like this have happened to me in 3 of the the last 4 games I've played. My goalkeeper runs out, stands there with the ball and gets tackled and concede an open goal. Why didn't he kick the ball away when I pressed the kick button? Or better yet, not come out so my DF can clear the ball away.

Silly goals like this put me off the game.
