Patches/Option Files
Foremost I would like to say billion thanks to every patchers and creators of option file on this planet which has brought the best out of every Winning Eleven/PES Series.
Recently I have downloaded the K patch and the Evolution Patch and I must say that it has brought life to PES6 and I can detect quality in both patches. Prior to that I have downloaded every accessible option file for PES6 that I can lay my hands on and I noted that each also has its own unique value.
However with due respect to the patchers and creators of option file, would it not be great if the option files /patches (particularly the team list) are different from each other. Currently about 97% of the option files/patches contains relatively the same teams and it gets bored sometime to download a file just to get a few different teams. It would be great if we have unique patches/option files like for eg.
1) The Entire English League- Premier League, Division 2, Division 3 etc reminiscent of the 92 British Club Patch and the balance slots reserved for the top teams found in France, Holland, Germany, Spain and Italy.
2) All the national teams in the World Cup qualifying rounds – eg.Malaysia, Singapore included. Use up all the club team slots for international sides.
3) Legends/Dream team patch- currently found in PES5
4) The Entire Scottish League and the balance as in no 1 plus some tops teams from the English Premier League.
5) Top Club Teams from Clubs throughout the world. Create a quota for each country eg. Top three clubs in each country.
By having a variety of option files/patches, it will definitely add more life to the game as we can change to a different option file if get bored of playing the same teams day in day out 24/7.
When I was playing PES5 (best game until PES6 came out), I had the following option files installed.
1. PES Legend
2. PES Dream Teams
3. Scottish Premier League
4. Power Patch
5. Coca Cola Championship
I was never bored with PES5 cos I rotated the option files often and the 5 option files were quite different from each other. For some unknown reason, it has been sometime that Konami has failed to provide us with 24 teams from the same league. The best we could do is to have all the 20 teams from English Premier League + Rangers + Celtic + 2 teams from some other leagues inorder to make up the 2 divisions. However it does look weird to have two non British teams in the British League. Fortunately, thanks to your generosity we were blessed with option files for the Coca Cola Championship teams, Scottish Premier teams and some files containing extra Scottish teams or British teams to bring some meaning to the Master League . So 24/7 we will be playing against British teams and no doubt it does adds to the excitement if we qualify for Europe. And if we do not, it gets a little bored and that is why we wish for more varieties. It is just no fun to play the other leagues, be it Sierra A or the Spanish League if we have to import 4 foreign teams from a different league to make up the number. The league does not make sense.
My other suggestion is that it will be fun if all the Cups(International and Club competition) can be modeled to the real thing. We already have all the World Cup balls and stadiums that resembles the real thing, real players from different World cups. What is lacking from the option file/patches is the Cups itself eg.Jules Rimet, Fifa World Cup trophy etc.
Anyway what I have mentioned above is just suggestions. Lest I’m misunderstood, I would like to take this opportunity to say that I appreciate and salute every patchers and creator of option files for their hardwork and sacrifice and making the game better and fun for us. Keep up the great work and Happy New year.
