Top Player ML with Average or Poor Team

Well, to add to this topic..
I started out as the original ML team in D2, signed Shimizu, Palmieri and that keeper I can't just ever remember his name.

I was used from previous PES games to play an offensive 343 formation with offside trap on and counter. Well, bummer... lost first 3 matches on top player then a draw and decided to try some things out.
I changed to a 4-1-2-3, always on offensive to medium offensive.
Offside trap is on but the biggest help came from changing the strategy...
after fooling around I have found a nice balance between possession play (off) and (def), swap sides, quick counter and all out while maintaining defence and still having enough to attack with. Strangely enough, I don't lack force in midfield though that may change in first division. The wins are coming now, still draw regularly but loose a lot less often.
I had a cup match agains Real Madrid and even had a 1-1 draw at home with 70 percent possession. I played offensive but with possession (def).
1 counter and I scored. Of course I foolishly lost the ball once and they score too, that's what they do when you're just canon fodder. But I was very proud of that game

Im playing 4 4 2 with a diamond midfield.

I lOve PES and have always been PES over Fifa however i am getting very annoyed with my master league with Blackpool.

I have now gone to Chelsea and won, beat Man Utd at home and running over every team. I have dropped 4 points so far. Lost to Wigan 2-1 after dominating and getting sucker punched by 2 late goals and drew 1-1 with Blackburn in a game i dominated.

I am playing on top level and i am by no means excellent at the game. I would expect on top player with Blackpool to be around mid table and i find myself in the top 2. I would expect to be having tough games against Chelsea and United and if i win i would expect it be a break away goal not a game i win with ease dominating possession and play and my keeper not making a save.

I just aren't sure if the levels of play are working right as it seems way to easy. If i wanted win easy i would either play Fifa or put the level to amatuer.

What are other people's thoughts??

I realized when I quickly tried to begin ML with original players that your team rank is quite high in beginning already..

And all your staff (coaches, scouts etc). are relatively good, with their salaries being about 3.000.000 per dude even when there are much cheaper staff available. Now whats this about?
I want to begin my ML as my team being piece of crap in everything. Meaning no cash, no staff and team ranking very low.

Is this in anyway possible?

Honestly i dont know how i am doing it.

I really aint that good and online have a average record. I just feel that the comp level isnt as good as it says it is. I am waiting now untill theupdate then i will get a option file (hopefully with CHampionship teams) make a Port Vale team and start from DIv 2 with the master league players and see if its harder. Its frustrating me that i am winning with ease and dominating games on top player.

If the former, then don't you guys find it boring to skip the 2nd Division? That's part of the challenge I think, longevity and all that.

I agree. In all my years of ML, rarely did I skip straight to Div 1. Getting that crappy default team out of Div 2 is no fun at all but it helps increase the euphoria ten fold when you finally make the team good and start to win trophies. You always remember how terrible they were at some point!

I realized I got alread all the coaches, staff as midlevel, so pretty good! I also got very much money to spend and team ranking about 49 (if I recall) which is better than ANY other Division 2 team.

Now this is very disappointing to me, is there no possibility to start from "THE BOTTOM", meaning no cash, no reputation of the team? Who needs crappy staff if you already have midlevel when beginning?

Can anyone verify this, that there's no way to begin a Master League with a very bad team? (Bad economy, staff, team ranking) I want to make it as hard as possible. :/

EDIT: Just realized, this seems to be a somekind of bug which happens if I've edited the team I'm playing with?

Playing as a poor team in ML is much more enjoyable than playing as a Top team. When playing as Blackburn the speed is just right for me but when I play ML with Inter the game changes, it´s much faster and as a result it becomes too arcady. So I´m a bit worried about improving my Blackburn team.
Btw I´m playing on 0 speed on a Pc.

I think you can change gamespeed to minus with kitserver even that it's not possible to do on PC only 0+2. But through kitserver at least one could slow the game in Pes 2010.

And what I was talking about there is indeed a bug. Try it yourself, edit your team (I did emblem, name over PES united). And begun ML with this edited team, original players, I had about 30million funds in beginning. Now I've tried beginning with unedited Team (WE United). And THEN I don't have money and have lowest ranking in the world (great!) .

I only hope that getting an option file with replaced teams over the fake teams don't mess up this funds / ranking thing..

EDIT: I can go around this bug of course by first beginning the Master League with unedited team, THEN edit the teams name, shirt, emblem what I'm playing with. Coolio

I started ML as an original team and I don't have a lot of money at all... My staff is all bad and I barely had enough cash to get me to the first week of september to hire 1 500k staff for form and to sign shimizu, palmieri and a GK from the youth team. I might have hired a 500k coach too, don't remember.
Halfway through the first season now and I have about 520,000 euro's in cash... Not nearly enough to pay for all my staff and players at the end of the season as I'll need almost 3 mill...

Sure I can use kitserver but what I want is that Konami will fix this. For me it´s terrible that once you have a top club in ML the game becomes too fast. It´s most likely because the passing speed is overpowered, toning it down would probs fixe this issue, I might release and option file if anyone feels the same. I´m gonna call it "James Dean goes to Japan"

I started with Spurs on Top Player with 2 players (on the same team). Its March and we're 3rd. Not bad considering PES' cheatery when losing

It's the end of Dec and I'm 1st (playing top player) with the master league defaults. I'm also through to the Semis of the England Cup after beating Bolton and Blackburn at home.

I got rid of some of the also-ran squad members and promoted literally all of my youth - Peleaz, Shimzu etc. Some really quality players there, just get tired easy. Also signed Crespo, a player ML promted me to try and sign (?) but he's quality, and at an overall rating of 85, easily my best player.

Started off with a couple of wins, then lost a few. Then I started looking at teams formations and adapting my squad to them. Alot of the lower D2 sides play with 5 in midfield, very narrow, so I set my tactics to attack wide, used a DM (Oscar) to protect my two centre backs whilst my wing backs bomb forward to support two very high wingers:

I guess my biggest tip is to keep trying out formations that suite you and that can be easily adapated when playing different opposition. For example, when I played Bolton in the cup I used my AM as a DM and marked Kevin Davies, which worked really well.

Also - I was very suprised at the ease of getting quality players in at the start of the game compared to before? Getting quality youth / a player of 85 at the start was unthinkable in games gone by. I started with PES United (pre-edited to FC United - strip et all) so Im not sure if that had an impact?

I pointed there above that there's a bug in the game, if you edit your team before starting ML, you get relatively good team rating (easier to sign players) and lots of money & Sponsors. So as you were asking I can verify YES EDITING TEAM HAS AN IMPACT.

Do like this: Begin ML with UNEDITED team like WE United. Check, that now you indeed have less fans, no chance to sign any quality guys and team ranking as lowest team.

THEN save. And now go to edit and edit WE United to be your team (Name, strip, emblem etc).

Got it?

This is HORRIBLE bug in my opinion and I can't understand how it is in the game!!

I'm really disappointed with PES, as Stoke City I managed with no difficulty at all during my first season to sign Kranjcar, Keane, Miccoli, Di Natale, Bridge, Galloppa. Worst of all is that I started the season with £67m! Stoke City?! £67m are you flipping kidding me?!?!?

I couldn't play with the fake players, I want the ultimate sim and management game which means no fake players.

I chose Stoke expecting it to be tough but then it proved mediocre. Most teams I play against switch to a Diamond formation which (is not true to real life!) always seems to cause problems but the ultimate sin is that when I've used speedy players I can't get away from defenders YET when I played Aston Villa Agbonlahor and Ashley Young skinned me for pace continually, well yup thats true to life but when I've used these players it isn't possible for me to replicate what the AI can.

I use feints to open up space to leg it into the green grass, I use well paced dinky passes and neither brings much success unless the last defender tried to push up for offside ... which isn't often.

Sour grapes or not, there are bugs in this game from PES2009 and PES2008, appalling goalkeeping gaffes (I've seen some good saves but the PES2009 goalkeeper parries has returned. I conceded some absurd goals thanks to Goalies parrying shots the could have caught, crouched to pick up or save with real ease - I'm talking about feeble shots and headers with so little power my cat could have saved them) the goalkeeper 'force field' (goalie is on the floor but your player won't attack the ball as it hangs in the air), defensive animation glitches (the worst was on 'assisted' setting, an AI defender broke into some bizarre feint movement but ran away from the ball!), not being able to select the player you want when there is three of more players in close proximity on the wing. I kid you not, I was refused the choice of selecting my full back even though the ball was right in front of him and the AI allowed the ball to run out of play.

I want the game to be a challenge but I don't want to be fighting stupid AI, I mean how often have you seen Man Utd push Anderson and Carrick upfront alongside Rooney when Berbatov, Owen, Macheda and Hernandez are on the bench??! Stupid stupid stupid

You must be a very good and experienced PES 2011 gamer according to your ML threads and your experiences of playing ML since last OCT.

Could you tell me how you scored those 14 goals and by using what
attacking ways(for example: wing play or through passes from midfield) to result in those goals on TOP PLAYER LEVEL?

I just want to improve my ability and skills of scoring more goals in
PES 2011. I think a lot of other PES gamers want to know about that
too.

It will be fine if you refuse to answer that question, I just want to know what i really wanted to know in this forum.

Jose Enrique (Yes, the Newcastle LEFT BACK!) played the pass of the season so far against me, outside of his left boot, carved my defence apart for Gutierrez to score. These passes are almost undefendable.

The AI is garbage, it does the same tactics EVERY SINGLE time.

hahahaha, spot on, AI scripted through passes will result in 1 on 1 with your goallie, there is no way you can stop it, why? simple, because COM
AI wants to score, so just let it be. I am wondering if AI can ever manage to score any goals without cheating, set pieces or lucky deflections, i think not, how can AI oursmart human beings intelligence, maybe AI can do that by year 3000, who knows

I was Barcelona and they were athletico bilbao and they scored from a corner in the last minute so i obviously drew 1-1. When i go on team results, they had only one shot on goal and that was that last min goal - ridiculous. Then on player ratings, the highest athletico bilbao got was a 6 and I got lots of 7's,7.5's and even an EIGHT.
And whenever I concede a free kick near the area, it allways goes in over the wall so when i know i've fouled someone close to the goal, I know I'm dead.
Konami, fix the AI, fix the goalkeeping if you wanna improve - Don't spend your bloody time on the graphics
