Training Challenges

For the free kicks just don't try to finish it all at one go.

Take it as a fun training.

Do it just after you're sick of ML for the day after playing 15-20 games, and use it as a break from the stress of ML.

Believe it, it's very interesting and requires much skill :)

‹♠♥♣›,

What player do you use for free kicks???
I have trouble with the 5* free kick training as well.

I use Henry or Zidane.

They both have the power Becks lack,
and the accuracy Roberto Carlos lack.

Actually if the free kick is close range you could try Carlos,
they said the harder the shot, the more pts right???

I did all of my free kick training with beckham and after doing a bit of practice with him i knew exactly how to use him. So I'd suggest you make sure you do them with one player and not change when you fail.

I didn't find the free kicks to be that hard althought having said that It still took me a long time to complete 5*.

Sigh...

now the only one left for me is manual pass...

it's damn hard :(

At 1* when I had to pass thru the cones from 2 yrds, I even passed it totally wide :(

For the Manual Pass challenge, I just belted the first pass as hard as I could - pull R1 all the way in the diection, then press it in. (Again and again until it worked perfectly.)

Then more gently on the second one.

It worked in the training, but I don't use manual passing during games. Unlike the 4-5* free-kicks and dribbling, it was one where a good first effort could take me through.

Dribble for me is still manageable.

Anyway I'll try all ways to pass that manual pass challenge,
so thanks for all your ideas :p

I got the 4th * for Free-Kicks yesterday. Eventually, using Garrincha.

Hammer the first kick holding R1, there's no wall so the more power the better. The next two from 20-25m pop over a three man wall by pulling back slightly on the left stick, no shoulder buttons. It won't go very fast, but as long as it goes in the right side of the goal both times, the points should be enough.

I just have 5* dribbling and free-kicks left.

Platini seemed even better than Garrincha for free-kicks, but I couldn't get him beyond 800 pts on 5*.

I think for me, the key was pulling back very, very slightly on the left stick.

Is it true that players would curl more if they have less shot power???

They're rated as seperate abilities, but in practice I'd imagine there's some trade off. e.g. Great players will still be able to curl it a lot, but they could do even more with slightly less power.

My best curling free-kick was with from 28m with Rivaldo, rated 90+ for both. It had the power to reach the goal at speed, but curled so much from left to right it actually went inside the keeper into the centre of the goal. He'd dived past it when it looked like it was going just inside the post.

I think you do have to use much more 'side' on the left-stick than 'up/down', which affect the power of the shot.

the challenges should already be open from the start. but i think if you get around 500-1000 points you can make your own dribbling challenge
