I don't think this has been answered before, I had a quick search but no joy.
I've bought Graveson and at 30 his curve has levelled off and is slightly dropping, his stats are on the slide. As you can train up players that are on an upward curve, can the same be done for players on a downward curve to slow down their rate of decline? Also is there any training that improves a players speed and acceleration or is that just a general skill?

Yes you can in the off-season you can train any players you want and the stats will go up. Not sure about speed and acceleration but I don't think so.
