Trick Cards

I was curious as to what these did exactly. Konami provides as good as zero info on them so I went about in training to figure them all out myself. Hopefully this will help others cuz now I can make full use of these players. Should also help you ML players on whether to train these cards or not :)

Quick Scissors Dribble: Legs will move a lot faster when doing stepovers (L1x2)

Quick Turn: With the ball stopped, hold backwards and he'll quickly knock it back. Players without this card slowly roll the ball back.

Cross Over Turn: Ronaldo chop. R1 + 90 degrees to movement.

Scooping: Press backwards then forwards to flick the ball up.

there are loads of tutorials on youtube showing what does what and how to do it

This is not a tutorial thread, just a simple explanation. If you paid attention, those videos don't specifically mention the skill card. They'll just say Ronaldo chop, etc. There's no videos explaining quick scissors dribble or quick turn either, which at 1st I thought was something completely different. So even though I'd know how to do the Ronaldo chop from watching the video, I'd still have no clue it has to do with the cross over turn card.

i had to register here on the forums just to say thanks for your thread. been looking for this in quite some time now.

i was actually almost certain that quick scissor dribble was when they perform the scissor dribble where they reverse the movement from normal stepover - just faster than normal (the dribble where you first tap forward and then tap 90degrees either upwards or downwards, left or right for the players movement that is) but if you found out it's the stepovers i trust you mate ;)

your also right about youtube movies doesnt specifically show what type of card provides the skill being performed, or at least it's not very clear.

didnt exactly get the quick turn thingymejiggy, it's just a normal turn but faster than without a card?

At first that's what I assumed the quick scissors was too but all that requires is dribble accuracy of 80 so just about anyone can do it. Here are the comparisons I used. Try some out yourself and you'll understand.

Rooney vs Obertan: Obertan has quick scissors, Rooney doesn't. Even though Rooney's agility is much higher, Obertan's stepovers are 3x faster.

The quick turn is only for when the ball is stopped. With the ball in front of you just hold backwards and you'll see a quick turn in opposite direction. Try the same with someone who doesn't have it and you'll see him drag the ball back before turning which is much slower.

indeed, i tried it last night after posting, and your right. when you first are aware of for example quick turn and quick scissor dribble i think it's alot easier to appericiate these skills cards. well done anyway.

isn't quick turn for 90-degree turns? instead of the weird animation, they just do the classic one.

no, it's like Stormrider sais. if you stay stationary with the ball, and press opposite direction of the way the player is facing, he makes a quick turn 180degress, instead of dragging the ball under his foot and turn around which takes longer time to perform.

i just tested the 90degree turn your talking about, i first tested with lucas which has this weird slow animation, and his theqnique is 80 and dribble accuracy 77 and dribble speed 75.
and then i did it with mascherano which almost has the same stats as lucas, 82 in theqnique but 78 in dribble accuracy and 75 in dribble speed - and he made the normal animation.
the only answer i can come up with is it's the dribble animation of each player that decides wether he does the stupid slow animation or the normal animation.
if anyone has something to correct or add please do.

Smijernet that's cuz Masc had a better condition arrow. I just tested it out with a dozen players and all you need for a sharp 90 degree turn is 80 dribble accuracy. I had both Masc and Lucas on green arrow and they both did the slow animation. Right now I have Lucas on red arrow and Masc on green. Lucas is now doing the sharp turn thanks to the extra boost from red arrow and Masc still doing the slow one.

Edit: did some more testing. I got Babel on arrow pointing down and he can no longer do the sharp turn so looks like that arrow still brings your stats down a lot. Riera is on blue with 85 dribble acc he can still do it. I think that should help when choosing players. Blue arrow still playable, purple arrow = fuhget about it.

your right again, didn't even think about the form arrows since i always have them up in exhibition matches, but in trainings they are random.

I know it's offtopic, but just out of intrest, the new tenacity ability.. what exactly does it do? i also wondered about the attack ability since pes6 what it really does, defence i would guess is just how good your player are to snap the ball from the opposition.

Tenacity is Mentality. In my NA version things are are called different from yours lol. The right side is what mine are called

Tenacity=Mentality
Form=Condition
Weak Foot=NonDom Leg
Some player cards are called different too so weird. Like Mazing Run, mine is called Agility King.

Anyways, tenacity/mentality is how well a player performs when they're tired. Attack rating is ability to get into good attacking positions. Basically means higher attack equals more chance of being unmarked. Also you can change the arrows in training if you pause and go to "training menu".

^ ah yeah because it's called mentality on last years, i just thought they implemented a new ability but appearantly it's just the same as you say.

thanks! :)
