there most definately is.. first off you need to check what input plugs your tv has.. look for a S-Video plug.. and then look at your PC and see what conectors it has.. once again look for S-Video, now you will need to purchase a cable that fits both.. and then in the drivers you will need to configure it...let me know which vid card you have and i will post instructions...

well my video card has an S-Video plug but my tv doesnt. it has 2 scart plugs, a regular arial plug and a white, yellow and red plug plugs at the side. can any of these be used to connect it to the PC S-Video?

Well you can get a cable with one side S-video, and the other yellow(composite). You can try that, not sure were to get it from, I just have one, came with my digi cam.

I think that there will be a clear loss of quality if your getting your pc screen displayed on your tv (or so i've heard) - S-video to S-video is meant to uphold the best quality and composite is suppose to give quite poor image quality.
I'm wanting to get my pc on to my TV also (just having trouble finding a 3.5-5 metre s-vid-s-vid cable ) - Does anyone know how much quality will be lost in the pc-tv exchange? i dont want to be playing pes4 with iss2 graphics!

Yes, i can confirm that even with my 9700 Radeon with tv out, You do indeed get a poor image display on a tv using the scart to video out (composite) Only if you havea true svhs on your tv will you sustain a good level of quality, but otherwise, it wont look too good at all, and often you get frame rate issues.

It sure is all you need is a Graphics card with a TV out and then go to your local radio/tv store and by a multimedia cable kit.. then you are flying on your brandnew 42" plasma screen i dolby surround :)

Enjoy!

If you are using a Nvidia graphics card there will be some loss in the quality but ATI works perfect.. without loss... im not sure it is so..but i have tried both manufactors and ATI came out much better... maybe because they have a history in making video chips for phillips ..im not sure though! By the way PES3 looks perfect and with massive sound on my TV :).. and I even support more pads than my console does..hehe!

In reply to t1000v2.0.. im not sure why my 9700 pro does not fail at giving a prober image and neither do I have a frame issue... actually it is 98% as good as on my normale monitor.. Maybe it is because im using the all in wonder version... not sure! I have no problems though and all my X-box and PS2 friends love to come play at my house..hehe so whenever we play tournament im the host!!

Hmm, could be that the all in wonder is better, i mean its more geared towards multi/alternate displays etc. However I have a standard 9700 non pro, but I still would have thought it would look ok. Well it could be that I have a not so good cable, but at the end of the day, the quality is like 30-40% down of what I get on my monitor.

edit: mighty, what cable do you use? and if you can remember, where did you purchase it? Maybe that could be the prob.

I convert to SCART from my 9700 Pro AIW... my old tellie sadly can't handle anything else..but I bought a pro cable and scart in a audio/video hobby store.. which improved the quality much..but sadly also cost a bit more :) It is gold plated!

Best regards

well.. that may be the tv.. i have played a few things on a pretty sweet TV and they look okay.. but i was back like 3 metres.. and i have a non pro too.. and it blurs slightly.. but then u remember that you're playing on something bigger than you're monitor and it only supports 800 x 600 before you lose parts of the TV, 800 x 600 looks shits on anything..
