it appears that there are alot of people very unhappy with pes 2012, more so this year than ever before,
I would say it's about the same as before. And many of those who complain change their mind once they revert to version 1.0, and actually love the game.
Konami made some horrible, nearly unforgivable mistakes with the 1.01 patch that came out about the same time that the majority got the game. So few people actually played the unpatched version before applying the patch or they actually got an already patched version from the shop.

Yes it does, and this year is no different.
however there have been too many changes for the worse this year i.e. no longer possible to play 1 two's, thru balls and passing in general has got alot worse than 2011, i think its cos they have brought the new concept in for passing were we now controll a player off the ball with the right stick to make him do a run, wen we activate his run we then only have to hit the pass button and the pass will go auto pilot straight to him, maybe a good idea in theory but in practice however with the speed of the game online its like the players r on an ice rink and u hardly have time to do a quick pass let alone flick the right stick to control another player then watch his run and pass!!!! cos the game is so compact aswell now its almost impossible to make use of this new feature, but cos they have forced it on us its no longer possible to play 1 twos or split a defence with a through ball anymore, also the shooting is very poor, not only getting the right power but also nearly all shots go staight down the middle, and the dribbleing is now so easy it makes it nigh on impossible to stop the likes of messi and even much lesser skilled dribblers, also a flaw in the game has to be when 1 on 1 with the keeper, its way to easy to dribble round him and score... its practically a guaranteed goal.... anyway if like me u have tried the new game and given it alot of time but still find its poor especially compared to 2011 please add your comments

I can play one-twos, I can get through balls to work as intended, and since I play with little or no passing assistance, there is no auto-pass to the player on a run. I do agree that AI dribbling is a bit off the charts, but I still manage to keep clean sheets every so often when playing at Superstar level. Timing seems to be more important than ever, though. And the learning curve is maybe (arguably) steeper than usual.
PES is an "evolving" franchise, and I think PES12 is great in that aspect. Yes there are plenty of errors here, but it's still a far better game than 2011 version, or anyone before that. I think PES2009 was the best game of the "last generation" of PES, and PES5 before that. Notice how PES go through valleys between each peak, and right now we are on game #2 in the current "generation", pes2011 being the first one with 360 degree movement and passing. I think we're nearing the peak now, next or the one after that will be a "mindblowing game" (huhuh, Seabass?
), and the cycle goes on.
What I mean by "valleys" isn't that they release games worse than the previous version, but that Konami seems to have trouble fitting new ideas without making a few mistakes in the process. Once things are ironed out, they release a peak game and move on to the next "generation" with new ideas and new errors.
So, to make things clear; I think PES12 is a great game, but it could be much better. There are obvious mistakes here, and they have been pointed out by many. As I've said in another thread, PES is evolving, but not evolution is positive. There are mistakes made in the process, but so far I think the game has evolved in a good way, even though I don't think every single change is for the better.
