When i first connected to play online, I could not use a Username under 7 or 8 Letters, but ive seen Player's with 3 letter names etc...

I was wondering how can i do this ?

Your username is different to the player profile.

The username you log in with your password does have to be 8 letters or more, however you can create profiles of any amount of letters i believe. This is the one others will see and i suspect why your getting confused Mine is tomos and today i played a "ela" so i think that should answer your question.
